I agree with you CrazyC, it nothing else I was thinking that if Accupressure is an effective treatment method ....then again everything and anything we do affects the bodies systems in some fashion in our out of play, especially if we belive it will have an effect.

(I don't get it....what does Microsoft have to do with energy work?)

Last time I felt this advanced and amazing I was a teenager who thought I had discovered everything for the first time.

wouldn't it be nice if a person could experience each moment like they have discovered it for the first time?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe we could....

Oooh, that was a cheap shot!  Finding joy in things is one thing, bouncing around "being the most evolved and enlightened" by putting others down is entirely different.

The only one I see putting anyone down in this thread so far is you - - three times over now.  I haven't seen one person profess to be better or more enlightened or more evolved on this thread.  Not sure what you're reading here, but I think your filters are skewed.

Marc2b -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/14/2008 10:38:56 PM)

I’m more enlightened and evolved than everyone. I must say it is a most satisfying feeling of superiority. It allows you to denigrate and demean people for your own amusement which is always great fun. The only down side is that it can be pretty exasperating trying to explain things to the rest of you ignorant Neanderthals. But, alas, it is the burden of the superior to try. A friendly piece of advice to those who would like to live each day as though they are discovering everything for the first time. Take a large cast iron skillet. Pound it on your head several times. That should do you for three or four days at least.

If you believe in it, you go with it.

MamaDomme,

Thanks!  The "I am more enlightended than you are" crowd is what kept me away from new age stuff for years.  Sad really because it has so much to offer!

I totally agree!  There are so very many avenues one can take on a journey such as this-- who the hell is the ultimate decision maker of what way is *right* and who is more enlightened than the other?

I feel that we are all able to acheive whatever level of enlightenment that we need in this lifetime-- and each path is distinct for each soul  to develop.

oops......... off on a meandering again....

Attually needle and clothespins probably could. If Reiki can work without touching and sometimes through distance, then pinching and proding will too. You could put a massage therapest out of business by saying it doesn't. lol

Energy is in everything. Universal energy like reiki though should only be done with good intent. If that means pins and needles yeppie.

I should have been more specific...needles and clothespins as they are used in play have no chance of activating the meridians in the manner of acupuncture treatments.   [;)]

CrazyC -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/15/2008 8:59:31 AM)

What if an accupuncturest is playing needles with his sub and purposefully doing energy work in that way? Second, what is the diffrence then of accupucture and accupressure? If i press down in a certain area for accupressure, doesn't it activate the meridians? I am still learning, so the questions are true.

Alumbrado -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/15/2008 9:13:49 AM)

Acupuncture needles are thinner and inserted differently (more shallowly for starters) than for play, and the insertion is not what does the energy work, it is what the acupuncturist does after the insertion ( which is dictated by the specific diagosis).

Shiatsu follows the meridians like map, but is actually working the muscles and trigger points, some of which overlap acupuncture points. The method of pressing in acupressure will have some effect on Qi or energy, but again, there are angles and manipulations specific to the desired therapeautic treatment that aren't going to be duplicated in poking or prodding for a D/s effect.

CrazyC -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/15/2008 9:21:13 AM)

Ok. Thank you for explaining that.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/15/2008 10:39:41 PM)

Yes. I practice SM spirituality. In fact, I just went to a spiritual leather weekend and did a hook pull and ball dance. I was both a piercee (four hooks, four bells and two clutches of feathers) and a guardian for others who had been hooked.

If you find cathartic flogging, ritual piercing and mummification to be "up you alley", I highly recommend Butchmanns to you.

Good Evening and hello to all members!!

I have been wondering are their any Masters who are also Energy aware and work with the Chakras??  If so do you you use BDSM tools (flogger etc) as a means of Spiritual Connection and Growth or is BDSM simply for play/entertainment/sexual purposes?

Where I can find those who accept M/s as a very spiritual practice few seem to be energy aware and how a flogger can be used for that purpose....someone out there must understand how the two go together....or I hope.

thank you for taking the time to read my post and I look forward to reading your responses.

~M

What I like to call spiritual BDSM is similar to an ordeal path. The submissive must go through some sort of ordeal/pain to achieve a altered state of consciousness or subspace. The Dominant has to be able to create a container/scene that will hold the archetypal energy created and be able to channel that energy. When using tools like floggers, bondage,  e.t.c  I like to think of them as amplifiers of intention. Practicing this type of spiritual BDSM has opened a door to wonderful but sometimes scary scenes for me. Simply because unless I stay humble I inevitably eat humble pie.

AngelicPuzzle -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/22/2008 2:42:25 PM)

thank you for the link and I am looking at Butchmann's this April, the overall expense of the weekend is currently cost prohibitive; plus I'm hoping to find a partner who incorporates the things into their style of M/s.

I heard from those who did go to the conference that the hook and pull dance was amazing!

AngelicPuzzle -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/22/2008 2:43:53 PM)

Phoenix,

I like your description of the ordeal path as well as the implement an amplier of intention, nicely stated - Thank you.

aaminah -> RE: M/S and Energy Work (1/22/2008 3:28:42 PM)

greetings everyone,
what a fabulous thread to stumble upon. i have been a massage therapist for 13 years and have done much energy work. yes, the feeling of being in subspace and having energy work done are very similar. thank the Gods Master knows a bit about energy and it's flow, specifically between us and He is eager to learn more too, all the better for both of us. i had never thought about it specifically in connection with the chakras though until recently, when i have been taken by Master to play more with others, that many females seem to have some intense root chakra blockages. i always find myself hoping that they will get unblocked and really get to the goooood stuff. as far as the reiki, i am very curious now to see how it can be applied when Master is flogging me or we are doing some other things......very interesting. always nice to know that there are others seeing the energy flows that are being created.
namaste...............Master Shadows' aaminah

I am a Massage therapist of 15 years and a Massage Therapy Instructor. I agree with your ideas on subspace. As far as floggers and Masters, I know a Massage therapy Dominant that flogs acupoints.
