Last night I had the most delightful experience of having a prolonged period of kitty play for the first time. We visited a local dungeon and when it came out that I will bat at jingling keys and try to get them, a few of the people there took amusement in it and I would have up to three or four people jingling their keys for me to chase. Later someone else even found a shiny red flashlight for me to bat around and I was given permission to pick it up with my mouth and carry it. Very happy kitty!

It was wonderful and I am hoping to repeat the experience in the future but running around on my hands and knees all night has some side effects. My knees and the tops of my feet are sore and some of the skin has been worn off. This may have been because of the type of rug I was playing on, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to avoid or lessen this. Also, simply out of curiosity, have others found themselves in subspace at the end of pet play? I know the answer is probably yes, but it’s completely new to me so I’m curious.

As always, thank you for any tips!
Aqua

Kneepads.

Admittedly, they're not exactly sexy, but they're easy to come by at most hardware stores and pretty inexpensive. I think I've seen pairs ranging from $15 - $50. Not being in an industry that requires kneepads, I have no idea what the quality difference is.

This is something I got for my girl so she can spend more of her time crawling around for me. (Not that I've had opportunity to use 'em yet. grumble). I chalk it up to the distinction between good pain and bad pain. I always try to minimize the bad pain, the stuff that's truly unbearable that just makes her want to stop or makes her miserable for days afterwards dealing with it (rugburns on your knees fall into that camp), in favor of the good pain, in this case getting to spend more time being a footstool.

Basically, they look good enough for me to tolerate them. Also, consider this - when you're crawling around, people are only going to see the straps on the back of them anyway, whatever's actually covering your kneecaps will be on the carpet and much less visible. So it's not as visible as when you're just standing around showing 'em off.

I don't have any good suggestions for your feet, though.

Thank you!

I was thinking about kneepads since I've seen them recommended for people who have expressed problems with kneeling for long periods of time. I just wasn't sure if they would stay in place or allow me to romp comfortably since the only experience I have with kneepads personally are bulky plastic ones I used to use while skating. Right now the only thing I can think of for my feet are much thicker socks.

Edited for a typo

Burt's Bees hand salve is good at rejuvinating worn skin.  The tops of my feet are typically affected from my crawling, particularly when we're in a hotel with rough carpeting.

Hey this may be a good reason to get soft, plush carpeting at home!

I would love a reason to replace our carpeting...

i did this kind of play with my last master, but not in front of a bunch of people...you are brave girl!  anyway, we  finally had to resort to the kneepads you can get at home depot...and i did have to use thick ankle socks for my feet, sewed lace onto them to make them prettier lol...it isn't as pretty as being fully naked, but the pain it saves is definitely worth it.

Your kitty play sounds like fun!  I highly doubt the specatators would have been staring at your kneepads :)

I use fabric knee pads for volleyball and they do a great job without being too cumbersome.  I also have used them during a bondage that had me on my knees for about an hour and they were much better than towels or pillows.  I would go to a large sporting goods store that has several different options and pick out (or have your Dom pick out) a pair that is aesthetically neutral.

I wasn't naked so I don't know if it counts as brave so much as obsessed with getting those KEYS! They jingle and they are shiny! SHINY!

I got a super thin pair of kneepads from my volleyball coach.  I cannot run around setting the ball in thick annoying kneepads, so she found some that are light, thin, and comfortable.  I've seen, but never tried on, similar kinds put out by nike.  Another option for getting around while in pet mode if you are flexible enough is scampering around using your hands and feet, kind of like crawling without using your knees.  Sometimes I do it just for some good excercise.  But it's not quite as sexy lol

Short term, there is a way to crawl which puts the force equally through the leg and doesn't bang on the knee itself so much.

Long term, knee pads are the way to go.  A former partner of mine becomes a cat quite often and has an entire body suit made for him with knee pads sewn in.

That sounds neat. Do you know where a person could go about finding one of those?

I do.

You can buy little footies.... dancers where them sometimes.  or special socks orleotards... plus you can buy fake fur stuff at craft stores and decorate them so that they look like kitty hair.... you can decorate them using just a glue gun or extra strength spray on glue.

Have fun... woof.

Hoorah for setters!  When I was a defensive specialist, I had a huge pair of asic kneepads.  They looked funky, for sure.  That's interesting I didn't know crocs had them.  Maybe for people who enjoy gardening?

Yeah sporting goods stores have will most likely have the best selection of knee pads. I used to wrestle and it was always tough on the knees so pads were required. The ones I had werent bulky at all, in fact they were almost skin tight but had this nice feeling, gel like substance to save your knees. Any ways good luck and enjoy your kitty play! :p

for the knees - knee pads....only way to go...i've done hours of kitty play without knee pads in a puppy mosh pit, and the next night my knees were bruised and i borrowed knee pads but i still couldn't play like i wanted to...if you do a google search and then the google shopping page, you can find all sorts of knee pads...personally, i would pay a little more for the knee pads, because it is something i am really into, and i like my knees...i've tried on the cheap knee pads...they just hurt in different ways... i am looking at getting these http://tinyurl.com/3bj5r2 ...........and for when you don't have knee pads, keep two pairs of long tube socks in your play bag...fold one pair up, and then use the other pair to tie the folded socks up around your knees for make shift knee pads....

for the feet - as mentioned...thick socks...i would go with crew socks, because i don't know about you, but when i am on my hands and knees, the majority of the time, the top of my foot it flat, not like a pup that runs on their toes...

for your hands - you have some options...they have pretty kitty gloves on http://www.sub-shop.com ....but personally, i am looking to get a pair of fingerless weight lifting gloves....protects the palms and wrists...leaves my claws free....my other option would be to get a pair of well fitting leather gloves, like police gloves, and put metal caws in the tips, with a technique i have to keep them stable and installed...haven't decided quite yet...but feel free to send me a message on the other side with youe email addy, if you are interested and i will email you the directions on how to make them, it is an easy afternoon project....

take care
chelle

I've never done a lot of crawling around for pet play, I don't scamper too much, stay more in one place, but I think you found your answer...knee pads for certain.

There you will find knee pads (in the mens accessories section) plus tights or leggings to wear over them so they dont look so awful. As for your feet, you can try ballet slippers ( not pointe shoes), which come in neutral colors and are made of soft leather - kind of similar to paws.

I adore kitty cat play and being a pet. My former Master made a gag out of a cat toy for me-a big furry grey rat. I go crazy in the pet store looking at all the beds, collars and leashes. I also like sleeping in a dog crate. Luckily I am rather small so I fit in there ok. Have fun !!

That sounds like a good option... i've tried using hardware store knee pads over bare knees, and i still got very painful blisters after a couple of hours

As far as thick socks go... just remember, a lot of very cute kitties have little booties on their feet!
