I had a slave for awhile until she needed to be released for health reasons that started cropping up.  She could no longer take the "full frontal assault" as she put it, so felt like she could no longer act or be the slave I wanted and needed.  Whether that was true or not, we ended our relationship.  This is not really to say it "failed," just that it had to end.  So, that being the case, and her being a bit of a switch (in that she would like to be in a Domme position with some favorite little girl), I could see that FWB might work once I have another slave, if she wanted to play a bit.  I think she would like that, if she liked the person, so I think in our case it would work.  And in that scene, I can see us, her and me, having a bit of each other as well, so not entirely dependent on the "other" girl.  I just would no longer use her as the slave I used to.  I know I would enjoy it, nonetheless, and I think she would, although I'm not sure enough to be speaking for her.
