Just a random thought.

I have a very unusual walk.  Part of that is attributed to the fact that I had an injury when younger that gives Me a particular wiggle.

My question is, do you feel that you have a particular strut that comes out a bit more when mixed with certain situations in the lifestyle?

Oumae -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 11:37:09 AM)

Oh Yes!

When wearing my very high heels I walk very slowly, with head held high...almost look regal...

all done so that I don't fall over flat on my face! [;)]

SweetDommes -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 12:03:43 PM)

Mine isn't so much of a lifestyle thing as a pain thing (and hiding it).  I have problems with one of my knees, and that leg happens to be about 3/8 inch longer than the other (which is quite a difference, considering most people have a 1/16 difference or less).  Sometimes I limp, even if my leg doesn't hurt.  A limp is a sign of weakness - a sign of a place to attack ... something I refuse to show most of the time (considering my last job and my current one are both at correctional facilities, it makes sense).  So I have developed a bit of a swagger to my walk sometimes.  Some claim that it's to attract attention, but it's actually to hide the limp.  The few people at work who know about my knee problems said they never would have guessed ... so my swagger apparently works to keep them fooled LOL

Edited to correct a few stupid typos ... any others can stay ... blah lol

thetammyjo -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 12:05:02 PM)

Nah, it has nothing to do with BDSM or pain either one.

I have hips, birthing hips you might have called them in the past, and so my butt it does indeed swing when I walk.

When I'm on campus for my interviews I'll have to be a bit more aware of that fact to attempt to tone it down. But then I'll also be in a winter coat and have a long duster on so that should hide it. I'm interviewing to be a professor after all and my sexuality shouldn't be a question or factor.

darchChylde -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 12:52:55 PM)

i'm sure this is more to the dominant women, but i couldn't resist

at events, where i dress to impress (i am representing Ma'am, after all); i tend to saunter a bit... it really doesn't have anything to do with the lifestyle for me, but dressing up gives me a definitive boost in confidence

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 3:44:58 PM)

I have had folks comment on my walk, but I always figured it was the Counterbalance....  (the thing that balances off the Norks).

undergroundsea -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 6:22:36 PM)

I find that the movement of my shoulders is different when I am walking than when I am crawling.

;-)

Shawn1066 -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 6:42:22 PM)

I have a rather unique gait.  I'm not sure exactly why, but I've had it for as long as I can remember.  I have no idea what it looks like, or even that I do it, but people tend to point it out to me from time to time.  My Owner described it to me one time, but I really lack a proper mental image to describe it.

AAkasha -> RE: The strut (1/14/2008 11:02:38 PM)

I do when I am wearing high heeled boots - or, really, any kind of boots I suppose.

Put me in a pair of sexy black boots and I strut like I own the place. lol. I noticed when I'm in my goth clothes instead of 'regular' ones that I have to wear to work, I perk up, I walk, I strut, and I feel like a Sex Goddess.  It may be the clothes and shoes, but whatever it is, I like it!

***Wiping away the drool, thinking about the way Mistress struts and wiggles Her hiney in Her sexy black boots***

I certainly think the clothes you wear give you the attitude to "kick ass and take names".  It's what you feel most comfortable in, therefore you can let your true Sex Goddess self come out.  But you rock the house, no matter what you wear! [;)]

MistressRouge -> RE: The strut (1/18/2008 6:20:44 PM)

I strut always, whether in trainers/casual footwear or fetish footwear. I walk quite quickly too, long, confident strides, just a natural strut [:)]

MaamJay -> RE: The strut (1/18/2008 6:28:59 PM)

I'm pretty much limited to fairly "sensible shoes" or My feet and ankles quickly give out ... though I have a couple of fairly nice pairs (including a cherry red patent pair) which I call My "fuck Me" shoes which have broad heels I can walk on. But I develop more of a strut when I put on thigh high stockings ... that's what does it for Me LOL!
Maam Jay (aka violet[A] but violet doesn't strut ... i think .... hmmm will have to ask Master LOL)

Einzelganger -> RE: The strut (1/20/2008 4:15:44 AM)

I walk differently when I'm wearing my tall boots (for flying, working on cars, or if I'm going to be on my feet all day).  They come about halfway up to my knees, and the cuffs are fairly stiff...so with less ankle flex, I've noticed I walk differently.  Also, I subconsciously walk differently when in private with a domme I'm playing with; I've been told I move more gracefully and quietly...which I suppose is why my former Mistress had me wearing bells all the time. *smiles*

LaTigresse -> RE: The strut (1/20/2008 7:38:52 AM)

I am sure my gait is different at different times, depending upon the situation and the shoes I am wearing. At work I am usually wearing sneakers and tearing about the place getting things done. Very different than if I am dressed up in heels, no reason to rush. Or if I am here at home in either old slip on shoes or barefooted.

aidan -> RE: The strut (1/20/2008 3:11:41 PM)

A friend once commented I looked like "a guy coming from or heading to a fight club." I thought that was kinda funny. Somebody else said it looked I was hearing music no one else could.

I don't know which I like better. :p

youngsubgeoff -> RE: The strut (1/20/2008 7:56:20 PM)

I dont really walk, I just kind of lumber...

LadyClaudiaVan -> RE: The strut (1/21/2008 10:15:29 AM)

Well from what I can hear from others, I have a straight body with no hunched back or low head, and I take bold steps, but not so much that it looks like Im stomping and my arms swing back & forth almost as if independent from my body.

TheLookingGirl -> RE: The strut (1/22/2008 5:23:54 PM)

In boots (as with most women I see) I definatly walk different, slowly and more fluid like...but really it IS to keep from falling down. Now my everyday walk at work? I'm like a little bee or something, I am quiet and walk with a purpose (quickly even) to get things done. Not as sexy that's for sure.

oh yeah. it's been named the linebacker strut. i tend to walk more like a guy than a girl, my hips don't really move right. apparently it's quite intimidating.
