subfever -> An Outsider's View of Ron Paul (1/14/2008 12:43:40 PM)

How coincidental to find this article just a few days after having a strikingly similar conversation over the phone with an out-of-state friend as we both watched the GOP debate live from Myrtle Beach.

I think it describes the weakness of both Paul and his general audience well:

Termyn8or -> RE: An Outsider's View of Ron Paul (1/14/2008 7:23:15 PM)

I got a bit singed in an email about one of my posts concerning Ron Paul. I don't blame the sender, what they said was right, I did nothing to help his campaign. What I did was to tell the truth.

The fact of the matter is that the US govt borrowed it's way out of the depression, and that debt is not only coming home to roost, alot more has been piled on. The national credit card is just about maxed. Not that there is a stated maximum, but it is getting to the point where the interest itself is crippling us.

We take our medicine now or later, and as you said, I guess it will be later. With the next big crash it will not be possible to borrow our way out of it. If I were President I would start getting the doses of sensibility ready on the first day.  The abolishon of several departments would be on the top of the agenda, in the case of me, the first to go would be the ATF. Followed by a total restructuring of the IRS. I would also enact high tarriffs on imported goods, IF THEY CAN BE MADE HERE.

Yes your cashews would be safe because they won't grow here and they are food. But that two thousand dollar TV would cost double that.

Companies that outsource to foreign countries would be heavily taxed. Your car would cost more. But once we take our medecine, when you make $800 a week you get most of it. Right now if you make $800 a week and are single, how much do you take home ? About $500 if that ?

Endowments for the arts would also be gone, that is for the private sector. Nobody would get anything but the most temporary of govt benefits and social security would only go to those who paid into it.

With my tariffs, China might start dumping dollars, and they got alot of them. It would not just be the tariffs causing higher prices. Market forces would be at work as well. It might well become cost effective to get off the oil addiction, by mining our own or finding alternative sources of energy.

Let me tell you, I am right, if Ron Paul were to win, the gravy train is over. But if I were to win it would be ten times worse. He is a gentle old Man and his judgement I am sure is well tempered, but I am not. I would cut off all aid to Israel, in fact to all countries. I would close all but the MOST important military bases in the world.

Understand the ramifications of that. Cutting off the foreign aid will kill the dollar, and bringing thousands of troops home will flood the market with unemployed people, but then they are willing to work. Perhaps one day it would become cost effective to build something in this country other than paper clips, snooping devices or bombs.

That is the country I seek, and the road there is not easy. I would probably be called a Hitler, and I would not take offense. OK he fucked up, but he took a country that was in alot worse shape than ours and almost became a global superpower. Without Hitler there would be no WolksVagon, and no autobahn on which to drive it. He stimulated his People to level of production that is pretty much unprecedented in the world.

But was it easy ? NO. However, unlike Hitler I would not attack other countries. If Hitler would have simply engaged the people to produce, build Germany and their lives, told the French to go fuck off and just been peaceful, he would have been hailed as one of the greatest leaders of the century. But oh well, he just couldn't do that. There is a fine line between genius and insanity, sometimes.

Actually Vladmir Putin is a fairly competent leader. He did not start any shit, but he did get the government there out of the clutches of big money, for the most part. It's not perfect, but look what he started with.

If Bush had half the brains of Hitler or Putin we would not be in Iraq, with plans to go into Iran without the manpower or the resources. We would be mending fences. Is that racist ? You know the fence I mean, hint, it is down south.

The fact of the matter is that you are not ready for this government to act within the boundries of the Constitution. No more checks, no more grants, no more anything of the sort.

If you read the story of the encounter between David Crockett, a congressman and a Man named Horatio Bunch you will know what I mean. That money is not theirs to give, it is that simple. We pay taxes to keep the government functioning and get roads built. It's not a collection for charity.

Electing Ron Paul would be the best thing that ever happened to us, but it is not going to happen. Ever. People do not have the spirit nor strength to vote for him. And that is not his fault, it is ours.

We can't take it. But what few realize is that it is coming whether we want it or not. The eventual collapse of the dollar is imminent, maybe even planned. What I said is that if we do it now, rather than when it comes forced upon us, it might be a bit easier.

And it is coming no matter who is President, he is not the leader of the world, just this country. If China dumps their Tbills, better now than later. If the national debt is to be nationalized, which is the only way out, why wait until it climbs higher ? Do it now.

The collapse of our economy is inevitable, get it ? Got it ? Good. Any responsible adult who has children should be very concerned about this. So you leave them a house, possibly a car, your golf clubs and trillions worth of debt. The national debt is us borrowing from future generations, and sometime it is going to have to stop. And just printing money does not work, if it did there would be no national debt.

And the thing that gets me is that most of that national debt is incurred by our meddling in the affairs of other countries. Very little of that borrowed money is doled out to us, the people who must pay the debt and are indeed the very collateral for it.

You think you own anything ? You're nuts, they already own every fucking blade of grass.

Property taxes were referred to as rentes in the Protocols. Call me full of shit, call the Protocols full of shit, but you are only sticking your foot in your mouth. The way things are was spelled out precisely, with uncanny accuracy. Let me reiterate part of that real quick  "THE WAY THINGS ARE WAS SPELLED OUT PRECISELY, WITH UNCANNY ACCURACY". Note the words are and was.

The fact of the matter is that nothing I have heard or read, since or even before I read the Protocols contradicts them in any way, in any way. Not one fact, or even believble assertion has ever contradicted that document.

If we got me or Ron Paul in, the inevitable would just happen sooner, and hopefully be a bit less painful, but Americans have been trained to only think of the here and now, and not look beyond the surface of any issues of import. There is alot more than meets the eye, and most cannot see it.

Like a horse with blinders on, we are led to our video games and plasma TV that we have to replace every time they come out with a new model with more features. We have lost track of what is real. What is real is that we are going down the tubes. Does anyone else hear that kawoosh sound coming ?

Enough doom and gloom for one day, I see it and I know it and there is not a damn thing anybody can do about it. And the frightening part is that most people do not want to do anything about it.

So be it, just take care of yourself, and I shall do the same. When the shit hits the fan, sorry about your luck, you should duck.

Let me give you a bit of perspective. Without going and finding out the actual number, lets say the national debt is a trillion dollars. There are three hundred million people here. That is a third of a billion, so the rough math indicates tht this is about three grand per person. Now subtract the children, the old, the disabled and the bums. Wait, not to forget the druggies and inmates at the extensive collection of prisons and mental wards we have. How many does that leave ? And somewhere in this country there are still stay at home Moms, inlaws who live upstairs, and people on the run due to warrants.

Then add in the people who are unemployable for other reasons, like stupidity or lack of learning basic skills. Then the people who can't get certain jobs because they can't speak English. And folks, not all of the latter come from another country.

It all adds up to a big shit sandwich, and we are all going to have to take a bite, but it grows day by day. Even people living on the moon know that. They have a national debt clock up in NYC, have  look at it sometime. We cannot keep doing this forever, if you think we can you are nuts. More nuts than I could ever hope to be.

When the shit eventually does hit the fan, whatever administrration is in power at the time will be blamed. People do not realize that we have debt unpaid since the 1930s and even before that.

You want ketchup or mustard on that shit sandwich ?

Of course...

If the "shit" hits the fan,

We can always call in chits from the debts owed us.

Ron Paul's live or die type of capitalism is well over. Yes, our Constitution is based on it, but it's never really been tried for very long anyway. It's really just a political myth that they tell you so that the shell game that is played with politics and the monetary system can continue.

Because of the number of people on earth, I believe that a mixed socialist system is the only thing that makes any sense.

It's really not even worth arguing about. Anyone that wants to whine about a Constitutional government and how we aren't playing by the rules needs to go back in time and cry to Lincoln or an even earlier president. The fight is over, you lost.

Boo hoo!

Newsflash: You are your brother's keeper. That's something they never taught you in school, but it's actually the sole reason we band together into the political groups that become what we call civilization. I know that just tweaks the shit out of you Randian/Libertarian Zombies, but there it is.

The elephant in the room is your inability to accept that fact.
