Doesn't anyone hate [granted there may not be many "gamers" out there] when someone picks up a game you're working on and then decided to out-do you in everything?

Funny story; I showed my girlfriend the first hour or so of Persona 3 and she immediately fell in love - bad enough I had to let her borrow it for a couple weeks and already she's doubled my play time and found WAY more extra quests/items/social links than I could imagine...It's gotten to the point of me restarting my game from scratch - gawd I hate this!

Just don't let her see The Sims or its sequals..

When I had my first live-in sub, I got her The Sims 2: Christmas Edition for, well, Christmas.  She was addicted enough that I considered it the babysitter.. if I was away and she had nothing else to do (no more work or chores), I could just tell her to play that and she was happy.

A lot of girls seem to think that they don't like video games until they try them.  Then it can get ugly.  :P

(Not that it wasn't cute.  She made five or six games, most of them involving us having kids and growing old together.  Me?  All I did was played for ten minutes with a couple of lesbians until I realized the naked-characters cheat code didn't actually work and got bored.)

About a third, it seems lately; so three million?  (It seems like half the characters are female at times, but a lot of those are guys playing girls.  Then again, I've known some girls playing guys.)

My slave and I play, so we're 50/50 there.  :P  My best friend and his girlfriend both also play.  My best friend's ex plays.  My little brother used to..  And I think that's it for people in real life I know that play.  That's actually a little more than 50% on the female side, although one must admit that isn't a scientifically significant sample size, nor unbiased.

I wouldn't say that I hate it, but there have been a couple times when a friend of mine beat a game that I had before I had finished it (of course if I had just finished it before letting them borrow it, maybe that would have been different, but you know)... And well, it's not so much disliking that as that I like finishing whatever first or just doing better at whatever game... Basically instead of hating being outdone, just wanting to be the one doing the out-doing, as it were.

Fnord.
