In an obviously humorous way, that's about right.

Right?

A lot of what he says could be applied to the left and right. I think the article was humorous but devoid of any merit beyond the fact that he points out we are a country filled with me, me, me minded people. Though unlike the author I see plenty of that mentality in most of the political factions. They just focus the me, me, me mentality in different areas. It's the same mindset grasping for different candy.

"could be applied to the left and right."

"I see plenty of that mentality in most of the political factions."

If wanting to lessen pollution in the air and water, while decreasing our dependence on foreign oil and gas, strengthen and grow the middle class, and have a benevolent roll as world leader,is me,me,me,....

Then count me as one of the "me" generation.

Admirable goals... too bad none of the politicians on either side actually share them in the least.

I can only imagine the author reading this thing aloud in a nasal, shrill voice.

This writer's strike is really hitting everyone hard.....

Rabble-rousing contributes to the problem and not the solution, regardless of whether it comes from the right or the left. This nonsense is in the same category of spew that comes out of the mouths of Limbaugh and Coulter. It all attempts to speak to the inner child in us.

Unfortunately, it works more often than not.

Owner, "have a benevolent role as world leader?"
Ahhhhh,...that's not part of the "Job Description" of our govt to be doing.
What if China wanted to be "world leader?" You'd be "ok" with them stationing Troops in this country?
Oh, and they'd welcome us with "open arms" just like in Iraq, right?
And *our govt* is going to do this without even consulting the American People?
