Why does it seem that so many of our potential D/s interest are not only, not in our neighborhood, but also not in our state? How many submissive's have hopped on a plane to meet a potential Dom? I know I have flown to submissive's who I thought held potential and a future with me and have flown them to me as well (but none have worked to date?). So, I've decided to cash in my frequent flyer miles, grow a goatee and stop looking so damn hard!
Atleast until the airline prices go back down.

Peace and still lookin..............................................................................good, Kevin

Unless i somehow managed vacation away from those who must not be mentioned i won't be flying anywhere, nor have i flown to meet a guy before. If life were a bit different i would i think. If a Dom potentially wanted a ltr, was willing to relocate, and wanted to fly out to get to know me better i'd say sure, not a problem.

i've never hopped on a plane to meet someone before. Nope. Never!
Though i'm not against that idea (though i'd feel like i ought to pay for my own ticket-)... ~Still, i prefer to meet someone who's at least in New England (where i live!).

Hmmm!

anyway...... greenie said she's never flown to meet a guy....
and i've never flown to meet a guy (or gal for that matter)....

so for now that's

After a very long time talking on the net and on the phone to get to know each other, i flew from Ontario Canada to Texas to meet Master. A couple years later, i'm now living in Texas and married to Him. It's not for everyone, but don't let distance stop you from exploring a possible relationship.

Like Hissweetshiv... after a long time of 'knowing him' online... I flew to meet Master. First time I've ever done the travelling. So far so good.

Does a three hour bus trip over the border to Seattle count? Or 90 minutes on BC Ferries? LOL

In general I avoid even chatting with anyone I couldn't get over to be with on a weekend, or would have to cross a border for. It's just too frustrating for me, and since I live in a large city with an active BDSM community I believe the odds are good that eventually I'll find someone local.

I've had a reasonable amount of local success...enough to keep me from venturing into LD, but if I lived in a small town..well, then yes, I would assume I'd have to bite the bullet and look away from home. Not everybody can find their mate living next door.

almost to Spain once
Tennessee to Washington state
Washington to Oklahoma
....
many trips from Spokane to Seattle, one ferry ride up to Victoria, and one long ass ride on a greyhound for 3 days!
I love to travel. I love Canada and Mexico but will someday cross the "big pond" and see mother Ireland if im blessed.
would i do it again? hell ya Kevin. Kudos on the goatee!

I've flown Australia to Korea and planning on a trip to India soon to meet my favourite Dom. But then we had already met in person when I was living in Malaysia. While I was there I also flew a couple of times from one end of the country to another to meet a potential Dom.

LDR is hard (and expensive).

I've never hoped a plane to meet some in reguards to this lifestyle. I have hoped planes though to attend large party's with friends I have made online playing my dork games. I would hop a plane to see someone I've developed a serious mutual relationship with, and if it's inreguards to this life style, then I would rather fly to her then put her out by expecting her to do the travel. Unless I'm in a place that she actually wants to visit reguardless of my presence or not.

Hi Fastlane,
I agree that looking for friends in far away places is a bad idea. Even if you do click with someone are you really ready to move? I think local friends are the ones to spend your efforts on and far away potential people are just not worth the effort.
When I met you last week I thought you were a genuinely nice Dom. I think the best thing is to do what you started last week. I think if you keep comming out to society functions soon you'll find your sub in the millions of them out here. I know I'm wanting to, and ready to play with you now. I bet you'll find an un-attached sub soon to have for your very own here in MD.
Sincerely,
sub suzanne

My late Master lived in NC but he was moving here to NY so that worked out fine. I have been lucky finding a locas Dom. I am not saying i would not fly to meet someone but i am married and it would be kinda hard to explain me jettin off somewhre so it is not feasiable for me to fly away.

This is just the simple law of: attraction and distance are inversely related.
