ORIGINAL: fastlane I am suppose to be in New Orleans at a conference in three weeks, don't know if that will happen now? I only know Feline, from that area. I hope and pray that you are safe and will be enjoying the comforts of water and electricity very, very, soon! Given the fact that the levee broke and the lake leaking into the city, coupled with the expected loss of power for at least a month, I wouldn't count on that conference. To say nothing of the rest of the damage. :( My friends and family made it out alive. They evacuated as soon as they were told so. They all lost everything as far as they know, but they cannot yet return to the city to make visual confirmation of this since New Orleans isn't letting anyone back in yet. The insurance companies are automatically declaring homes in certain parts of the city as totally gone, but a lot of them won't pay out until they have visual confirmation. My heart goes out to those who are stuck in this limbo, to those who have lost the entrapments of their lives, and to those who have suffered worse.
