UNCERTAIN
The future holds many keys
to doors that may be forever closed.
The locks that now bar my heart
may stay secure forever and a day.
The pain yielded from the present
may inhibit future encounters
and only time will heal these wounds
of a love so unsatisfied.
As I move on through these days
facing each one at a time
my strength and firm resolve
Hold me fast to the journey ahead.
Laughter shared with friends
keeps my bitterness at bay
as the desires of the heart
remain unsated another day.
