Seriously, it refers either to sex intercourse, or to the vagina. A very unlikely origin is the french word "putain", which can be pronounced almost "putang" in some areas (I have no idea about Louisiana), the more likely origin is the Philipino language.

I'm surprised, and didn't mean to stump anyone. "Poontang" is venerable slang for "vagina" (as in "So-and-so is crazy about poontang"). No idea where it comes from; my slang dictionary also suggests putain, but that seems unlikely to me.

Edited to add: Forgot to continue the chain. I don't commute to work because I work at home, but often have to drive to meetings and stuff. So I guess the answer is "sort of."

TPBM went to a Milli Vanilli concert and has never admitted it.
