I’ve had a few conversations with some slaves I know and found a difference of opinions that I found interesting. A whipping boy, in feudal times, was a boy of the same age but lower rank raised with a prince or nobleman as a playmate, who was whipped in his place when the young nobleman -- too high in standing to be beaten by anyone below his father, who was often unavailable -- misbehaved or slacked in his studies, as a psychological 'indirect punishment'. In modern times, the term has come to mean a scapegoat, or something that is a frequent recipient of undue pain, punishment or mistreatment, including inanimate objects. (From Wikipedia) Societal norms teach us that if some person(s) do us wrong that we should confront that person(s) to resolve the issue. If a slave is property for the use of the owner in anyway desired, can a slave be used as a whipping boy? Can a slave be used as a scapegoat for an owner to vent anger or frustration in any form be it verbal or physical? What if the slave offers his/her self up for such purpose? I’m just putting this up for discussion. Please direct your answers the forum community not me. I already have my answer.

Id say that if the slave offers it, and the master can control his anger enough, then yeah

i agree with Asher....if the Master can control himself (or Mistress) then sure, why not.

If Valyraen has a bad day and needs to release his stress on me by way of a scene, we have no problems with that. We do have problems with a situation where the owner in question is unable to control their anger as it seems likely that is a situation it someone merely hiding abuse behind BDSM instead of seeking help.

If this is what is agreed upon, then it works...except in cases of law where the person who did the crime is actually expected to serve the sentence. Master Fire

I believe you're looking at this too simply, MrKite; it's not just the top beating the bottom we have here. We're all people. We have some level of empathy so long as we can relate somehow.. more, the more we relate. And, as it seems to me, the human mind can make some rather simplistic associations. When the slave serves, do you believe she is seperate from what she serves? When the Master orders, do you believe he is seperate from what he orders? I assure you, I'm by no means one for mysticism, but it's the mental identities that cause people to feel a connection that people often mistake for "spiritual". They associate themselves as something larger than their own bodies.. something that they're merely participating in. I'm sure many "Dom"'s are angry bastards. For some, though.. some think it's spiritual and enlightening. For what may be the large majority of us, though.. it is fulfilling. (This coming from a non-sadomasochist.)
