I believe you're looking at this too simply, MrKite; it's not just the top beating the bottom we have here. We're all people. We have some level of empathy so long as we can relate somehow.. more, the more we relate. And, as it seems to me, the human mind can make some rather simplistic associations. When the slave serves, do you believe she is seperate from what she serves? When the Master orders, do you believe he is seperate from what he orders? I assure you, I'm by no means one for mysticism, but it's the mental identities that cause people to feel a connection that people often mistake for "spiritual". They associate themselves as something larger than their own bodies.. something that they're merely participating in. I'm sure many "Dom"'s are angry bastards. For some, though.. some think it's spiritual and enlightening. For what may be the large majority of us, though.. it is fulfilling. (This coming from a non-sadomasochist.)
