Ok.  I'll admit it.  Back in the day, when they were really big, and my daughter was "that age" where she absolutely doted on every little giggly, jiggly moment of "Girl Power", I really really liked The Spice Girls.

Oh god, I'm so ashamed.

Najakcharmer, just had to go google that word "filk". Now I'm going to have to hunt up some music by Ookla the Mok to satisfy my curiosity! If i get addicted, I'm going to come find you, lol

Google also Leslie Fish, Kathy Mar and Tom Smith.  Enjoy your new addiction!

I think I have you all beat!  My first concert EVER was......*hanging my head in shame and horror*.....

MC Hammer.  AND Vanilla Ice was the opening act!

Please forgive me, for I knew not what I was doing.

edited to say that I do not either of them anymore, and I am so glad that I did not buy any of the tapes to later burn in effigy!

sits down next to oreogirl and holds her hand... Air Supply... shakes my head in shame...

BUT I did see U2 in concert once where Bruce Springsteen came out and sang with them... Some friends of his were in the opening act, and he's from Jersey and the concert was in Philly... Do I get to at least negate some of my Air Supply points?  sigh.

I wasn’t embarrassed by my enjoyment of listening to this song; but began to wonder if maybe I should be, after my 11 yr old informed me “Mom, we can work on your issues together.”

Monday Morning

You know, once they let the women into the band and stopped playing blues, Fleetwood Mac went to hell.

Its another "Yoko broke them up" story.  Women in mixed gender rock bands DO NOT WORK.  All girl bands, cool.  All guy bands rock.  But let a few squeezes in with the boys, and at BEST you get "Monday Morning" ... at worst...Look what a woman did to Spinal Tap!

I can't seem to get enough of Los Del Rio. The Gods help me, I even do the dance when their one hit makes its way to me in the shuffle of my Zune. In an effort to displace my shame, Master came dancing out of the shower the other night singing along to Mariah Carey. He's got too many of her albums in his collection. I cringe every time he goes near that CD shelf and just pray that he doesn't choose her. -shudders- Hmm, I really do feel better about myself now. What do ya know?

I didn’t. Sorry?

I just like it cuz it has sentimental value to me and a good beat.

When I was a teen, my friends and I hated BM and modified one of his songs:

I've been alive forever, and I wrote the very first evil song
I put the words and the melodies and subliminal messaging together
I am Satan and I write the evil songs

He write the songs that make the whole world sin.
He write the songs that are excruciating!
He write the songs to make you bow down and cry!
He write the songs that make you wanna die

My home lies deep within you
And I've got my own place in your soul
Now, when I look out through your eyes
I'm young again, even though I'm very old

Oh my music makes you sin
And takes your spirit your soul, everythin
And I wrote some rap, and deathmetal, country so you won't move
My music kills your heart
Well, that's a real fine place to start
It's from me it's for you
It's from you, it's for me
It's a helldeep symphony

I still dislike him verymuch!
