And also it's an outrage especially when they don't intend to tag it so you won't know whether you are buying cloned animal products or the real thing.Crazy utterly crazy, also cloned animals are at a higher risk of infection,so the meat won't be so pure.Thankgod im a veggie lol.But seriously now what does everyonelse think about this?

greetings wankerforuse,

i also am upset by this. i used to support research in genetics and cloning and such until i found out how it was done, and now the part of me who knows some kinds of genetics research can be helpful to cure diseases and cloned food is supposed to help with the global food supply is at war with the part of me that is completely struck and horrified by the way the process is done.

respectfully,
annabelle.

I'd love a cloned leather flogger to add to the collection especially if it were kangaroo. I don't see anything immoral or unethical about cloning animals. I don't have a problem with cloning human organs either but then, I'm a geek.

Does the work with genetics force you to realize our chemical nature to an uncomfortable degree, or is there another reason you're so worked up about it?

I have my reservations about human cloning, but that's typically because most of those humans are going to be used for scrap parts; those who don't will likely lack parents or take a set of parents who could've adopted a homeless child off the streets or/and out of starvation.

The actual process of cloaning itself strikes me as rather ethically acceptable.  (Again, with overpopulation currently an issue, I do have my reservations about it actually being used.)

I think there are larger issues, other than this, to really worry about. I will have my bambi burger now, whether it is cloned or not.

I have no issues with cloning of animals for consumption or animal products such as leather.   When we start talking about improvement of wild herds and human cloning my concerns get complex.   I am not automatically opposed to such things, but I want them to be VERY carefully thought out as the cloning process starts to have serious implications when we go to that level.

EDIT:  When I say human cloning, I am talking about the laboratory growth of replacement parts and NOT the growth of cloned individuals (I disagree with that).

i have no reservations against cloning animals but like vegetables that are gentically modified they should at least be labeled so buyers know. The FDA should get on that because there will be some protest about it and it's not fair to expect all of the public to be behind it. Congrats on being a vegetarian, i tried but those chicken wings...too tempting for me

well for me i dont eat alot of animals myself...im mostly chicken and pizza when it comes to meat.   i also eat lots of tuna and other fish... and stuff from pigs and cows like bacon, cheese, milk.  other than that i eat salads.  it only changes if i am at my parents house in which any kind of food would be available.  what i eat is good on my diet and i dont gain any weight and it gives me alot of energy.  so cloned or not it wont effect me much.  but if there is a shortage on animals then cloning them keeps the animals around longer so they dont go extinct then its a good idea.

Under the strict definition of the term, you've been eating 'cloned' and genetically manipulated vegetables. Unless you're growing your own from seeds you pollinate personally.

What's the difference?

I would thing the PETA folk would be thrilled. They used to have a position that they wouldn't eat anything with a 'face' or 'eyes' except a potato. Through genetic engineering eye-less and face-less cloned beef can be produced and the PETA people can finally enjoy a hamburger without guilt.

There is no scientific difference in the meat and milk of a cloned animal vs a non cloned one.

On a side note, these conversations make it pretty obvious who comes from an agricultural background and who doesn't. Hate to tell you this but you've been eating genetically altered animals for years (and no, it isn't all labeled...ever wonder why KFC tastes so darn good? So unnaturally good?  )

I'm a science nut...I have no issues with cloning in any form. I can't wait until horse cloning becomes a little more affordable (It's available but costly.) My old child-hood horse is still kicking but not really up to competing any more...I can't wait to have a new version of him!

I do not see any reason why cloned animals would be health hazard. I would like opponents to give concrete scientific arguments rather than just say that they are bad. I can not name any biochemical reason why cloned meat would be different from uncloned.

As Mercnbeth stated, you have probably already been eating genetically altered fruits and vegetables for years. From your post maybe there is something to the theory that they cause brain damage.
