i agree.... with myself.

Dont think its a choice when it comes to who we are

But yes its a choice to BE who we are

Just as its a choice to breathe
To eat
To live
to sleep

Never known anyone to get anywhere living a lie. Is that the right answer? To CHOOSE to lie about who we ARE instead of choosing to BE who we are?

Who cares - even if its the wrong choice, its still OUR choice and others can take a flying leap over a rolling donut about it

I'll tell sklava it's a choice to sleep, she'll be delighted! Even the sleeping pills aren't working lately. Still, while some of your facts are in dispute, I agree with your conclusion- living a lie ain't much good- but on the other hand, sometimes it's better than the alternative. We can all admire people willing to die for the truth, but it's not always so much fun doing it yourself, and throughout time this has been the choice presented to many. So, yeah, it's still a choice, but when we talk about people having choices sometimes it's only meaningful if we take a good hard look at the alternatives. Otherwise it comes off sounding rather glib.

Alright, glad to hear you're not casting judgement. As I said to RiotGirl, it then becomes a matter of talking about the real alternatives, because telling people "well that's your choice" without investigating the realities tends to sound judgemental or insensitive, depending on circs.
As for prenatal choice- sure, but there are just as many people who believe in predestination: no choice at all.

Thank you, Ragdoll. I was concerned that perhaps I had confused everyone in my search to find the proper way to express myself.

I think that in many cases, declaration of choice should not be used as a dismissal.

Lifestyle......... I honestly admit I dont understand what you people mean by that.
I have in most aspects very "vanilla" marriage.
I was bisexual even before I began to understand what "sex" means, was attracted to boys and girls.
I have been swinging for years and I enjoy it very much.
And I am dominant, even sadistic person naturally since my early years.

All those things make my own unique lifestyle, along with being animals and nature lover and heaps of other things. I never thought "lifestyle" means belonging to some group.
And lots of those things I am I have choosen over some other things I could be - simply becuse I like them more.
