anybody have any advice for me as far as introducing it to my home etc. What i need to set up for its care besides a good vet, collar, leash, food, water and most importantly Love! Thanks!

seems you have it covered...except for a covered catbox hehe. i just adopted a kitten a few weeks ago and she is so much fun, i named her lambchop. she gets into everything, she can open cupboard doors and then gets stuck inside, she's gotten stuck behind the couch and the fridge (how and what the?) be careful about where she might be able to get herself stuck if you aren't home, that has been my biggest problem so far. as far as toys go, cats will play with anything, i spent a small fortune on toys for her and her favorite thing to chase around the house is a plastic lid from a hairspray bottle and her favorite place to "hang" is a shoe box in my closet...go figure.

they sell these things that look like igloos with a hole in the side that cats are supposed to love to curl up in. mine will sleep anywhere they feel like it, in cupboards, on my monitor, wherever they drop. maybe if yours starts early enough s/he will learn to like the kitty bed. PM

I would also suggest only buying a premium kitten food. In both dry and canned styles.

Spay/nutter, declaw, have toys and cat nip on hand. Clear counters of breakable items.

Things to scratch on are a good idea. Kitty condos, a carpeted post, a nice leather couch. Cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, and the toilet paper in the bathroom will keep him amused for hours on end. Bob (and his 6 cats)

winterlight, Ensure u get high quality kitten food that looks soft and digestible perhaps eukaneuba and for liquid only give water - do not give milk as the kitten will get an infection and in most cases nothing can be done even with antibiotics. Way lots of quite undisturbed cuddled sleep in a warm dark place, as much food as they want and water and very gentle play. All my kats lived beyond 18 years - its a big time commitment. What you do now gives them the foundation for health. At 6 weeks I think it is they need to start there shots. If they are not eating a good child ( human ) baby formula gets them going - I always use chicken and peas and after that they are eating like gangbusters. Use Maslowes Heirarchy and you are good :)

for play you need one of those rope things connected to a long plastic stick. the kitten will jump really high trying to catch it. they'll chase it and even run away with it... takes ALL of their energy in just a few minutes.

Thanks! Get a Roomba robot vacuum cleaner, glue a 2 foot long string with a feather attached to it, charge it up, turn it on and go have a nice relaxing cup of coffee. Your floors will be spotless...and you'll laugh your ass off for well over 90 minutes.

yikes a cat. Ask yourself if you can deal with the hair - the pee, the claw marks. hair will get on your clothes funrinture ect- as will the pee. you DONT want a cat.
