DisenchantedLife -> A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 11:20:01 AM)

There was this black guy, woman, and a mormon..............

(does it sound like I'm about to tell a joke?)

And they all ran for presidency.......

Who do you want to win and why?

Shawn1066 -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 11:29:26 AM)

Of those choices?  The Mormon, not because he's a Mormon, though.  That doesn't have anything to do with it.  Can't vote for the other two because their beliefs don't even begin to match my own.

Of all the current choices?  I don't think I have to say.

jasmine2008 -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 11:37:26 AM)

i would vote for none of them i hate the mormams becuse i was excomunacated from them the black does not have a chance and a women might but i dont know go hucklebee

SubbieOnWheels -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 11:50:36 AM)

I don't know yet who I'll vote for. I have a tendency to vote for people who don't have a snowball's chance in Death Valley of winning. (Does anybody remember Anderson in 1980?) So my November vote will probably be for someone not in the major parties. I vote for someone whose stand on the issues most closely resembles mine - and if there's no one who's close on all issues, I'll pick the issues that I'm most passionate about.

I am going to say that ANY republican, hasn't got an ice cube's chance in hell.

Crush -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 11:57:40 AM)

I keep telling you all...vote Cthulhu....time to quit voting for the lesser of two evils!

In all my years of voting, I've yet to find a candidate I want to vote FOR.  It seems I always have to vote AGAINST.   And I've not missed an election in 36 years...even the dog catcher kinds of elections.

Anyone else feel that way?

Shawn1066 -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 12:01:57 PM)

Wait, I'd vote for Cthulhu...  I didn't know they had the Lovecraftian Primaries yet, though...  Yog-Sogoth is pretty strong on a lot of issues, and Dagon has a strong following in rural areas...so I don't know if Cthulhu has the inevitability factor.

Crush -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 12:04:03 PM)

Cloverfield...the movie...."HE is making His Presence Known"  Not to mention his website and his clearly stated stands on the issues!

Maybe I just have ED*

*Electile  Dysfunction: the inability to  become aroused over any of the
choices for president put forth by either party  in the 2008 election year.

What does the white male Mormon believe in that's in contradiction with what the black guy and the white woman believe in?

Just curious.

Shawn1066 -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 1:59:35 PM)

Foreign policy differences.  Economic differences.  Social differences.

Pretty much everything.

Romney's on the right(mostly), and they're on the left.  Their beliefs are just too different from his.  I can't support either of them.

If they better reflected my beliefs, then I'd support either one of them in a heartbeat.  Say what you will about Hillary, she has a great political mind.  Obama, in particular, has a -lot- of charisma that is pretty undeniable.  If he just had a bit more experience and actually reflected my beliefs, then I could support him.

Romney.
He's an outstanding manager.
Plus, it'd be nice to have someone in the WH for a change who doesn't have a sordid background.
Imagine that, no dwi's, drugs, rapes, sexual assaults, possible murders (Vince Foster)
I think the country needs a break after those two losers Clinton and Bush.

bipolarber -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 3:20:33 PM)

Anyone but Bush. Because they aren't the single most corrupt, divisive, power hungry bastards in the history of the United States.

None of the above. But I see that the Vegas odds sharply favor Hillary.

Hillary   1:1
Obama  5:2
McCain 7:2

Please elaborate - I am very, very interested in this. So far, this election has shown me that the candidates are playing down their policies and playing up their image (or lack thereof). I could dig in the candidates' manifestos, but I'd rather ask individual voters, like yourself.

If you like, I'll ask you a precise question: why do you prefer Romney's foreign policy to Clinton's or Obama's?

liks2plzlf -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 3:35:22 PM)

I'll drink to that

sharainks -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 3:38:28 PM)

Probably not Romney.  I would find myself wondering if he was wearing his garment.

christine1 -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 3:50:18 PM)

one is being singled out for religion, which doesn't matter in a presidential race.

one is being singled out for skin color which doesn't matter either.

and another is being singled out for gender...which again, doesn't  matter.

OP, i see the point of your thread, but the title was less than appealing to me.  just my 2 cents.

DisenchantedLife -> RE: A Black guy, a Woman, and a Mormon (1/21/2008 7:45:28 PM)

I want obama pretty much because he's black.  I know, I'm a racist bastard!  Actually, I'm sick of the white good ol boys that take presidency............ i would love for something new
