i used to be an insomniac...then i allowed myself to follow my natural rythms:  i like to stay up all night & go to sleep as the sun rises & sleep all day in the sun with the cats...when i was a small child, i remember my mom always getting on my case about my not being asleep..i would tell her that i couldn't go to sleep & she would tell me that i wasn't trying hard enough...ever *tried* to fall asleep???

i am both.  i wake early because i have always had to work early and even on my days off get the UMs off to school, but i stay up way late too.  so late that i now have a bed time when i dont pick up a  3-11 shift.  my trainer said it is unhealthy to get only about 3 hours sleep. at first i hated having a bed time but i can see and feel it helps, i am less cranky and i am losing weight, i think because my body doesnt have to fight being sleep deprived.

I agree with you, the only reason I ever wake up before noon is for work or LO.  Never is it  by choice.

Late night special here.
But I wake up raring to go.
I just don't need too much sleep and am always energetic.
What can I say, I have a friend who says I should be a cartoon character because I am so animated.

- I insist on quiet time when I wake and b4 bed.   When my enrgy winds down- i become despondent.-dreary, depressed.

I enjoy the sunset- and the sunrise.

I am a vampire all the way!!!!!!  Once I got out of basic training in the army in 81, I worked nights......since then, I've probably only worked day shift for a grand total of 3 years........mornings are a curse to me, I smoke when sunlight hits my skin, and I NEVER leave home without my sunglasses!  Supervisors love me because I am one of those wierd, strange people who actually want to work the midnight shift!  And on my Fridays....like today, I won't even go to sleep until about 3am....TOMORROW!  Even growing up, my body clock was bassackwards from everyone elses........I'd crash as soon as I got home from school, and wake up about 10pm, and finally drift off again about 5am......getting me up in the mornings was a nightmare....my mom would finally send up our dogs....they were Saint Bernards, and there wasn't room enough for all three of us to be in bed!  I learned a long time ago not to fight it.....my job has the type pf 24/7 operation that fits me perfectly.

As far as caffeine....I should just mainline the stuff, but I've lived on it for so long that it doesn't even bother me anymore......I have to drink like 3 liters of diet pepsi before I even come close to a buzz!

I don't have anyone as far as an SO goes...but in the past, it's gotten a bit tricky......usually, I'll go to bed with him long enough for him to go to sleep, and then get up and putter around for a while.  I'm also an insomniac from way back..as in the wonb....so I can't just lay there either...staring at the ceiling listening to someone else sleep is totally frustrating!

Im a middle of the day type person. I try my best to be i nbed before 9pm, and I usually dont get out of bed until 10am...if I get less than 10 hours of sleep a night I get physically ill and my brain shuts down and I get irratible and cranky and no one wants to be around me. If I have to either stay up late or get up early..Id rather stay up late.....

I'm a true morning person, I wake up perky and happy to see the sun rise. It is by far my favorite time of day, which means with my energy level I tend to be asleep by 9:30pm routinely.Luckily yay R is very much a morning person too. Gods he is just so snuggly adorable in the mornings and coffee in bed with him isum yeah sorry.

Night Owl since birth..... tho recently sleeping very little seems to be the pattern. I can still function, so it can't be too bad!

in my old age i've become a morning person...i wake up on my own at 4:30ish every morning, even weekends...go figure.  i don't fight it anymore and i have to admit that i like being up this early when i can see the sun rise or just be awake with coffee and complete silence.  hopefully when i'm in a relationship again, our schedules will mesh.
