And so phony.

I think at this point,we all no that tax cuts didn`t do shit for the economy, and most of that money(that rich people got) went off-shore or into over-seas investments, and not into America.

Insights on the Romney ad: lots of flash and empty words. He doesn't really say anything new, and he offers no details. His Grecian formula is slipping on the ends, and his shirt is too white.

Owner,
I guess Speaker Nancy Pelosi would disagree. She just passed with great pride and received bi-partisan support for an economic stimulus package that included $50 Billion in business tax cuts. Paid for, at least in part it seems by the quote below, by removing the provision for increasing food stamps and unemployment benefits.

You're not considering breaking with the Democratic Party line in support of this Corporate Tax cut, economic stimulus program are you?

quote:

...the package also includes close to $50 billion in business tax cuts.
The principal players in pulling the deal together were Pelosi, House Republican leader John Boehner and Paulson. The package would allow businesses to immediately write off 50 percent of purchases of plants and other capital equipment and permit small businesses to write off additional purchases of equipment. A GOP-written provision to allow businesses suffering losses now to reclaim taxes previously paid was dropped. Pelosi, D-Calif., agreed to drop increases in food stamp and unemployment benefits during a Wednesday meeting in exchange for gaining the rebates of at least $300 for almost everyone earning a paycheck, including those who make too little to pay income taxes.

Holy fuck, that's one corny advertisement.

My take on this is that the majority of the candidates need to fire their publicists.

Since we're on the subject, I have another bone to pick: it really pissed me off, prior to the primary in NH, how we got hounded - harrassed! - by pollsters, candidates and their publicity departments. It was particularly painful that the majority of these calls were pre-recorded messages, to which you couldn't respond (and politely tell them to fuck off). Some of the calls were literally offensive in their posturing and loudness.

I ask: why is it allowed for the candidates to actually employ the same techniques as marketing agencies who work for insurance agents, car warranty companies and other bogus holiday businesses? It's outrageous that politicians should be able to pick at the phone book and do this.

Mais que fait la police?!
