Oh great cookie god - whatcha got in the low carb/PMS soothing department? Am concerned they might be mutually exclusive, and due to the issue on the right side of the slash, you answer is rather urgently needed.

Trust me, go with the double chocolate chip... dont worry about the carbs, carbs are very much good for you!

soul2share -> RE: Ask The CookieGod! (1/23/2008 4:23:06 PM)

Oh Great CookieGod,

I'm going to butt in a bit for Kalista.....put a piece of bread in the container with your soft cookies...they will stay that way!  Also, don't bake them as long, and I actually use an ice cream scoop to drop the dough....not a teaspoon!

For those watching whatever....I use Splenda instead of sugar, and have found that applesauce works in place of shortening in most recipes, and Crisco now has a no trans-fat shortening out......

Sorry, but I just happen to be the CookieGODDESS!  But I'll share........gonna try the pumpkin cookie recipe tho.....sounds interesting!

Asherdelampyr -> RE: Ask The CookieGod! (1/23/2008 4:29:04 PM)

I see...thank you for the information

Dear Master God Grand PooBah of Cookiedom -

Will you make bake and cook for me please?  I am getting tired of Lean Cuisine and Trader Joe's....

I will pay with sexual favors.

Thank you,

Hungry in D.C.
I will bake yes, cook, almost never...

Ok then.  Come on over.

Hey... it wasn't covered in the hand maiden training....

what exactly is the relationship of m and ms, reeses peanuts, and the little hershey's kisses to the Cookie God?  Is it true, as rumored, that they are bastard children?

And what is the origin of the term "when the chips are down"?  Is this in any way a cookie related, chocolate chip kind of thing?  The level in the bag of chips too low to make another full batch of cookies or something?

angylec -> RE: Ask The CookieGod! (1/24/2008 9:04:23 AM)

whenever i've eaten or thought about making oatmeal cookies i've always wondered, could you use instant oatmeal? you know the quaker breakfast type oatmeal. i have a feeling you probably can't but i figure since we have the cookie god at our disposal i'll ask anyways.

also, if you don't have the time or the ability to make the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, smith's or krogers or whatever it's called in your area has some pretty good ones in their bakery.

They are my bastard children, yes
And the term, "when the chips are down" actually is a gambling term :) (refers to Poker chips)
