What I find curious, Scifi, is that their actions deviate from a simple action of freedom of speech b/c they invite themselves, without invitation, into people's personal lives to deliberately cause emotional anguish by disrupting the funerals of those people who are the targets of their hatred, yet it seems it is legally tolerated. Those aggrieved have to take out civil actions against the WBC. We all know that people have a right to take to the streets in protest of their cause, provided it is peacefully done. Yet the law seems to enable the WBC's actions. One of the chat shows here in the UK had the phelps family via satellite on the show - The mother and her two daughters. Apparently there is also a son but he did not agree with their beliefs nor of their methods of abusing people to force their points of view across, the mother openly said that he was no longer a son of hers as a result and the hatred she spews was vented towards him also, so that gives a clear indication of the degree in which they are willing to go to in order to bully people into hearing their views. So why is it lawful for the WBC to attend personal functions and disrupt them... that, for me, goes way beyond the freedom of speech.
