I never used to do breath play -- well, actually, still don't -- but my previous slave told me one time about how one of her previous partners would choke her, and how she grew to love it. So, after that, when we would be in a certain "layer" of play (don't know what else to call it) I would take a good strong hold on her neck. She could feel my hands gripping her, even though I wasn't really choking her, but it brought back her memories and used them, and she would immediately go sub-spacey limp and compliant on me, to me. It definitely added something new for me to use, even though I didn't have to go all the way with it.

I have had it done on occasion. I wouldn't say it's something I enjoy the most, but it's not at the bottom of my list. I think it's just more making sure who you are with is careful so they don't crush the voicebox. If I am tied up, gagged, and totally "helpless", it does have it's place.

There's something to be said for loving that feeling of vulnerability, helplessness and dependency with a Dominant. It's not something that I've done with all the Dominants I've met and been intimate with over the years. HOWEVER.. that feeling of headiness.. lightheadedness.. wooooziness.. indicates you are killing off brain cells when you engage in The Choking Game - as it's called in elementary/middle and high schools. It's a game that youngsters engage in - to experience that euphoric "high" without using drugs. That's the draw for those young people who don't want to get "hooked on drugs".. the Choking Game. I saw a video presentation with a policeman on a Conference Day at my workplace regarding the Choking Game. It is devastating to see the families of those who have lost a child to this practice. My 2nd grade son has seen other kids doing it in the playground at recess... Can you imagine?? Have I ever been choked? Yes. Have I almost passed out? Yes. Was it an amazing experience? Hell yes.. always. HOWEVER.. please please please realize what you are engaging in - what you are putting your submissive through physiologically.. and for heaven's sake.. be CAREFUL. I adore breathplay in every form. I actually don't like hands around my neck that much. I prefer his hands over my mouth and my nose. I also like simply being told to stop breathing and when it gets too much begging with my eyes to breathe.

Has anybody here actually been choked to the point that they passed out? My girl and I really enjoy it. Wrapping my hands around her throat during sex, or closing my hands around her mouth and nose, occasionally spreading my fingers to let her breathe, and so on. But I've never done it for long enough to cause her to pass out, due to safety concerns. I mean, I know enough to resume the flow of air once she's out, but I've read enough scary literature (such as Jay Wiseman's essay) to keep me from doing it at all. Frankly, I rarely even put on enough pressure that it's that difficult for her to breathe, it's mainly the pressure on her neck that she enjoys and it's all I need. So has anyone else actually been rendered unconscious? And, if so, for how long and what did you think?

I've begun using choking / breath play in a couple of prior scenes, and I have to say that I enjoy it but also take it very carefully. I have large hands, and I find that it becomes a moment for a change in pace, and break from what I've been doing up to that point but I need to be fairly gentle considering. I combine hair-pulling and tilting the head back to expose the neck for other attention as well as talking / whispering things which constricts breathing somewhat so a gentle touch is all that is needed. Not serious choking, we consider that too risky in general. But certainly tightening and holding around the neck. And he'll cut off my air by covering my mouth and nose.

Yep - Mr. Ham-Hands did that one, too, only he sucked the air right out of my lungs and then held my nose and mouth shut while he gleefully told me that he could decide whether I lived or died. Not fun. That being said, for those of you who were introduced to breath play by loving, experienced Masters, I'm glad you have had positive experiences with it. There are times when I wish I hadn't been so horribly frightened by it.

eeech... that is horrible. there is much potential damage by either forcing air into or out of the lungs. there is alot of talk about breathplay already being dangerous, that is just plain scary.

i too have read about the "choking game" that teens play. For some reason, the things i read, never focused on the idea that it was done as a drug alternative..to get that "high", but instead focused on the sexual aspects of teens (esp teen boys) practicing this privately while engaging in masturbation... Tying scarves..belts...ect..around throats while masturbating...to give them that extra powerful and wild orgasm. Sadly, many die, because they pass out,and are thus unable to free themselves... it is very dangerous. Learning about this, i, of course became curious about those intense orgasms.. but.. not wanting to kill myself while trying... simply decided to..well...hold my own breath. The orgasms resulting from practicing my own method of breath control...are..yes..very intence. i also have experimented around with my methods... Sometimes forcing myself to hold till i have finished my orgasm.. Sometimes allowing myself to breath just after the orgasm starts.. Sometimes allowing myself to breath the split second before orgasm. And i surely picked a favorite method. Doing these experiments..i learned the value of oxygen in my orgasms..and lead me onto other controled breathing experiments... DEEP...controled..huge amounts of oxygen breaths..while on the brink of orgasm...gives an equally satisfingly intense orgasm. One huge problem with breath play...such as what ive experimented around with..is..its either addictive..or habit forming...i find myself nearly everytime..using one or another of my controled breathing experiments. To be honest..i often wish i'd never experimented around with it.. it makes it impossible for me to have orgasms in other ways... such as oral sex... and sadly now...well..no man..can now give me an orgasm. So, i dont reccomend it...not at all. Been trying to force myself to breath normal..ect...while masturbating..hoping to recondition myself...but...its hard.

I love breath play! All those mentioned I think... using hands and kisses to keep the mouth closed and also anything around my neck gets me going... The feeling of control I get when I'm doing it or it's being done to me is exquisite [:)] I also like having my girl chained up and blindfolded and then smoking a cigarette and blowing it into her mouth then forcing her to hold it for a few seconds... similar effect with but with a little added dizziness... obviously ONLY a few seconds though! Also good if she's been hanging out for a cigarette and she can smell it but I can choose not to give her any... just sit back, smoke it and look at her lying there all helpless and wanting... mmm...
