I have this tattooed on my inner wrist, in traditional colors of black/silver. mine is wrapped with an outter area that is a mixture of black white and gray to make a silver color .. it represents chain. For the bonds that are formed in a D/s relationship. The three areas within represent safe,sane,consentual as well as BD SM D/s, theholes in the center of each reminds us of completion, as a reminder that *I* am not complete in my relationships without another.
This actually become somewhat of a "mascot" if you will for the BDSM community. To most vanilla at a quick glance they see it as a yin yang, if I am asked about it, I tell them it is a power wheel. I am never asked by those in the lifestyle, so it is an identifier.
Mine is custom made and a bit larger than a quarter, we had considered useing it here, but it did not work out. I have had mine for a few years now , here is a pic. It should be noted the holes in the emblem are flesh tone, as we added no color there, even while they appear colored in this photo, flash thing I guess :)
