Sir is retired Army.  I am unmarried spouse of a deceased retired Navy man.

LaTigresse -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 7:30:31 AM)

Oh good grief, I have too many military people in my life, both family and aquaintances to even count. They run the gamut of National Guard to some sort of special forces thing connected with the Air Force. Although, as far as I know......none of them are involved in BDSM. At least not that they've told me.

kshearsecouple -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 7:49:23 AM)

I spent 6 years in the Army National Guard. They even gave me knot tying classes [:D].

As has been said before, even if you don't agree with our gov'ment, never forget the men and women who are fighting/fought to give you the right to disagree. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the troops fighting for our rights.

I served in the 70's.  Instructor at the Signal School in Ft Gordon, as well.!!!
My father was an officer and pilot in AF during WWll, 2 brother in Army during VietNam.
My daughter just discharged after 15 years as an officer in the AF.
My son-in-law is a Major, AF.

As a couple of others have mentioned, it was the best thing I think I ever did (besides having my daughter) and my biggest regret was getting out.

Stay Safe, Brother!!!  We'll all be waiting for you when you get back!!

Warm regards,
Mistress Venus

Well, for me personally...Ive only got 4 years in ROTC and went though dep but never managed to make it any farther because of a massive knee injury. Daddy spent 11 years in the Marines, and 13 in the Army reserve as an MP. He just retired in 2007 when he was about to be sent back to Iraq for the 5th time. He already had his 20 year letter so he told them he was too old to dodge bullets anymore. Ive got a cousin with 8 years in the AF who is in this lifestyle, a brother in the Army who well...isnt really into the lifestyle but is into some pretty weird shit. The majority of my male ansestors have served in one way or another, grandfather was in the coast guard during WWII cause he thought that would keep him home..you know, guarding the coast...ended up circling the globe 8 times guarding convoys instead. My dad showed up where he was supposed to when he got drafted for vietnam but they wouldnt take him because of his eyesight. 3 out of the 4 Doms I have had served in the Military at one point or another. Im fairly close with most of the soldiers in Daddys platoon and I know of at least 13 that are in the lifestyle adn a few others who are swingers. I also know 7 corrections officers who are local here who have profiles either here on CollarMe or Alt.com

you don't LOOK like a Marine *grins*  Just teasing...LOL My Mom was USAF also.. when I couldnt get into the AF I called my dad, in tears.
"Daddy, they wouldn't take me!"
"why?"
:my hearing!"
What about the Army?"
"I dont WANNA go in the Army..I wanna be AF like you and Mom!!"
"Navy?"
"I wanna be AF!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"If you even THINK about the Marines,  I *will* disown you!!"

Dad was serious.. he was way old-school USAF.  As it turns out,. so was Mom..LOL

Later, they both mellowed that attitude.  Maybe cause I work at a hotel that has a contract with CENTCOM/SOCOM, so I have the chance to interact with people from all branches, not to mention people from the international forces...

celticlord2112 -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 8:49:09 AM)

I can relate to your father's perspective.  When my stepson talked about joining the Army, I was appalled that he would pick that branch over the Marines (why slum when you can go first class? [;)]).

Ok, not really "appalled"--but I did encourage him to look at the Marines if he wanted to serve.

LOLOLOL

My nephew just did delayed entry enlistment to the AF... ok, so we're an AF family... I'm proud of him, but scared cause his training is gonna be mech stuff... means he'll be on the ground and with the way shit is going, he'll be deployed as soon as he finishes basic.
My Cousin is a flight engineer on a J-STAR.. he's about to be deployed on his 8th tour.

*sigh*

littlebitxxx -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 9:15:31 AM)

Retired Air Force here of the Canadian type.  Had fun, glad it's done.

AFlyInYourWeb -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 9:52:00 AM)

So, let's hear it.  How many out there have a current service, prior service, or have an attachment to a military Dom/me, sub, switch <put your preferred term here>.  I know there's lots out there, so let's hear it.

I served in the Army 1970-71, and had reserve duty for a few years after that.

Military service taught me patience, endurance, and how to live and work with a wide variety of people from every conceivable socio-economic, religious and ethnic background.

It was as valuable as an educational experience as I received in college.

Exquemelin -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 12:06:52 PM)

I couldn't enlist because I'm diabetic, but i probably would have had I been able to.

Dari -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 3:20:47 PM)

Only listing people I know in the lifestyle and connected to the military.  Other friends are in all branches, but not also involved in the lifestyle:

My pet was in the Army.
My best friend is a (former-active-duty) Marine.
Another Dom friend is active duty Navy

Bamslilgirl -> RE: BDSM in the military (1/24/2008 3:57:58 PM)

Bam is military, & has spent 2 tours in Iraq. The first one was 13 months, & the second was 10 months. It was rough, but I knew that what He was doing was very admirable....something the family could really be proud of.

Yep, Gordon Highway, Barton Field, Signal Towers, Eisenhower Medical Center...bring back memories?
