My Master and I have a hobby of building custom bondage furniture.
Recently a friend asked us to built her a mummification board for suspenions.

Neither Master nor I have ever played with such things or really researched it so we're a bit in the dark on what typical designs are like.  What I'm picturing is a narrow plank - much like a stretcher you see at public swimming pools incase someone smacks their head - with anchor points for rope at the ends.  Or, say, a long wooden swing you'd see on a tree - each end of the board being attached to the rope twice to prevent it from flipping upsidedown.

Some sort of elevation system on either end would be needed... leaving the middle open for wrapping....  possibly something around the hight of barstools but custom built and less... barstool.

Anyone have expierence with these mummification boards?  Have you used one / been tied to one?  Would you change anything about the design of the one you used?

I have seen padded boards from 12", 18" to 24" wide all the way up to massage tables.  I have also seen them in body shapes such as a gingerbread man, etc so you have have access to spread legs, arms, etc.

Hmm... I like the idea about different shapes!
And padding is something I over looked - yes, for long term mummification a nice soft board would be helpful.

What i have used and has worked very well is an EMT type rescue back board .They are thick sturdy wood with grab hole on the outer edges .I have also been mummified then placed into a rescue basket or stokes .That is almost like a long 1/2 clam shell type steel basket yet another great for hanging .I gifted a collapsible stretcher aluminum frame , wooden handles and canvas middle to the head of our clan .I hope to be mummified to that some day soon .If your wanting padding  the only thing i can attest to personaly is the addition of a yoga mat to both the above mentioned  i have used and had used on me .
best wishes and enjoy .

They come in different shapes and sized.

I have found that the " gingerbread" ones are fun. Since it's for suspencions though- you want to have as many holes in it as possible so it's more flexible to play with. Paddig is not necessary, as far as I see it.It would make it heavier and harder to handdle. My ideal board would be like swiss cheese - holes everywhere and, just so it's comfortable, the edges should be nicely sanded and the whole board/edges can be dressed in leather.

The one I have is made to my size and has a posture collar attached to it.

Dungeon Designs Inc now has a bondage board based on the design of an EMS backboard.

Based on a paramedic's body board this 6' 6" (78") creation is made from 3/4" special grade plywood with 14 handholds that can also be used for restraint and suspension.

The board has 1 1/2" risers on the bottom and rounded edges. Stained in Old English Dungeon style and finished with four coats of premium polyurethane, sanded between each coat.

Slides under a Queen or King bed.
