Alright, too much gloom and doom. Too many unsolvable deep thoughts. I have to give people something to laugh about, even if it is at my own expense. I believe I have mentioned that I manage a small printing company. Manage meaning, I just tell the guys what to do and do whatever needs to be done that they cannot do. So, I am standing back by the pressroom at a big digital copier, entering a job, and I find myself doing something that causes me to stop and shake my head and laugh. To explain. My lead pressman has been on a weird kick with his stereo system back there, listening to some jazz station that, overall isn't bad.....some is actually quite good, BUT some does not really appeal to me either. No biggy, it keeps him happy and that is a good thing around here. Besides, I only halfass hear it anyway. Well, as I am walking through I half notice that the song playing reminded me of "old lady dept store shopping". I bet most of you know what I mean but for those that don't I shall explain. Around here, in malls, we have slick dept stores that tend to cater to ladies of a "certain age". In these stores they tend to play a certain type of music. Often times even by a distinguished gentleman sitting at a piano. It is a sort of piano instrumental jazz that just goes on and on and on......... and I don't really care for it. Okay, so.......after acknowledging that I associate this music with upper middle class elderly women shopping. AND acknowledging that I don't particularly CARE for this music.......I found myself standing in front of a big copier doing a jiggy little dance TO THE MUSIC! I believe I am losing my mind.....I was dancing BY MYSELF, to old lady shopping music! Now, does anyone else dare to open themselves up to such ridicule to humor the rest of us?
