Some reports have him winning more than 50% in a three way race.

That is really great news!  Obama in '08!!!

lockmeupplease -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 6:10:04 PM)

Hilary should have ditched Bill years ago.  He sounds like the "crazy uncle" on the campaign trail and killed her in Carolina. They need to find a place to hide him for awhile.

luckydog1 -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 6:12:15 PM)

Too bad, I would rather run against Hillary than Barak.

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 6:13:13 PM)

AP is calling it a rout.

Returns from 86 percent of the state's precincts showed Obama winning 54 percent in the three-way race, Clinton gaining 27 percent and Edwards at 19 percent.

Obama vs McCain.......... hmm.

Sanity -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 6:17:47 PM)

So far as Hillary and Obama are concerned, it's only one state. The big story here is that it's where Edwards was born, and he took it easily in 2004 - meaning, he's being shown to be practically doomed by this.

Well, DUH.  Poll after poll says half the country hates her guts.  She's going to have to respond to this.  The question becomes, can she take Obama down in the primaries, without so alienating his supporters that they would come out for her in November.

The inevitable candidate and the inevitability of a Democrat into the White House next seem to be flowing down the same drain.

The presumes it's not ALL an elaborate act to distract people from their political impotence. Which it is.

cyberdude611 -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 6:30:38 PM)

Bill has destroyed Hillary's campaign.

I think part of it is that people think that Bill and Hill are running as a team. And psychologically that ends up making Hillary look weak.

That's a good point, Cyber.  Of course, Bill is certainly the more likable of the pair.

I have not seen an inevitability of a Dem president at any point in the past decade.   Just because the Majority dislikes Bush, does not mean that a majority will vote for any paticular Dem candidate.  The anti Bush front has been incredibly divided all along.  It ranges from Neo Nazis to Stalinists, and. every point in between.  There is no candidate that can unite them.  I don't see any sort of Landslide for any side.  Likely the next president will beat Clintons record as the lowest % of vote in history, regardless of Party.   I doubt that will be good for the country.

popeye1250 -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 9:15:05 PM)

Both Clinton and Obama voted for the Bush/Kennedy/McCain amnesty in the senate.
I couldn't vote for Hillary, Obama, or McCain under *any* circumstances because of that and there are I'm sure tens of millions of people out here just like me.
And Bill "Bubba" Gump is starting to sound like the idiot that we all knew he was.

CuriousLord -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 9:28:35 PM)

While I'm for Obama, the racial bit causing him to win SC sickens me.

Damn people voting for/against him based on race, and people voting for/against Hillary based on gender.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/26/2008 9:37:29 PM)

I'm glad he won it, and I have only one reason.  I despise the Clintons, and I want Obama to humiliate them both into obscurity.  It's 2008, and I am tired of hearing these assholes.  Why can't they just retire with some fucking dignity?

They would have to have a little, to retire with it.  Or is it 'class' I'm thinking of?

Richard Belzer was on Bill Maher's HBO show a bit ago, saying Rupert Murdoch has a big dossier of Bill's women over the last few years, and is holding it in case Hillary gets the nomination.  Not the most reliable source, but you know those stories are out there.  At least Rudy had the decency to leave his wives...

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/27/2008 1:10:59 AM)

There seems to be a theory going on that Mr's Clinton wanted to lose by a big margin to Senator Obama, so she could galvanize white voters to her on Super Tuesday.  We will have to see how it play out but for true liberal voters, Senator Obama seems like a dream coming true. I hear Caroline Kennedy is endorsing Obama tomorrow with a call to her father's legacy.

kittinSol -> RE: Obama wins BIG in SC (1/27/2008 7:36:01 AM)

I think it's dead cool. Well done, Obama: may this continue all the way to the White House.

(I cannot vote, so I can only pray [:D] .)
