That is one of the reasons I am not a fan of the "who is viewing me feature".
People have always looked, people will always look and read.
Many of us enjoy just reading profiles, for whatever reasons.
It often means nothing, and most of the profiles I look at, I really have no desire
or need for them to contact me!
Imagine that?

I have several people that I am not on the best terms with, and when they contact me
to ask me WHY I look at their profiles, I tell them this... I will
continue to look at your profile, maybe everyday, think NOTHING of it. I look
at profiles, because I can look at profiles.
There are people I dislike and have on block and or ignore,
and I look at their profiles.

I will look at many profiles until they take them down.

We look, because we can look.
It's like going on in public, if you don't want people to look at you, you must stay home.

Well, for me, I never remember who's I've looked at, and sometimes people are talking about cool pics, or mention that they just posted new pics, so I gotta go look again..like those shower pics everyone was talking about a while ago..;)

And some do it for the same reason they add people to favorites but don't contact them. And that is because their collarme email doesn't work and nobody receives their messages. They hope that maybe you'll contact them and give them an offsite email address so they can communicate with you.

Sometimes I forget that I have looked at the profile.
Sometimes its because they have written something I like on the forums and its because i want to remind myself who they are.

Other times its because I am showing interest but am not being pushy and sending a letter, though that will usualy happen soon enough.
Sometimes I am reading their journal.
And sometimes its just because I like their profile.

My point is this, I am not going to NOT look at profiles,
because people can see me looking at them.

I know for a fact, many people will not look at profiles because
they don't want people to know they are looking at them.
That is a bit sad.

as she damn well pleases.
Don't get your panties in a bunch, OR think I secretly want you.
Many profiles I look at OR read DAILY, for fucking comedy relief.

I have been here almost 4 years, looking at profiles,
and that ain't gonna change.
I don't care if bells, whistles and sirens go off every time I look at YOUR

You're complaining about them looking at your profile and -not- contacting you? I wouldn't consider that an issue myself.

My complaint would be the ones that -claim- to look at your profile, then send you a message asking you to be something that you've sepcifically stated you're not looking for.

If they're doing it alot, and you like what you see on their profile, go ahead and send them a message first. You're not beholden to otherwise.

-because they don't want to contact you but they want to look at your profile.

I'm guilty of this. Sometimes I see someone interesting in the forums and check their profile. At times I forget what the profile contained or where the person lives. I also often check the profiles of the friends of one who I an viewing. Someone who is on many friends lists might more than one look from me.

I find it sort of odd that people are SO obsessed with the "who's viewing me" feature. One thing I find happens is the "who's viewing me" loop. It goes like this:

"someunknownsubperson" posts a note in a thread I'm reading. I'm curious about "SUSP" (note LaTigresse "train wreck" theory here -- I'm curious at this point, not necessarily attracted) and therefore I click on their profile picture, and I view their profile. Now the next time SUSP logs in to CM, that little "Who's viewing me" bar is lit up, and we all know that sign is irresistable. So SUSP clicks on my profile, and views it. Now a bit later when I log in, the little sign is illuminated in red, I click and there's SUSP. I don't remember SUSP's handle, having clicked and forgotten...so then...what do I do? I click on SUSP...and so it goes. and goes. and goes.

By the way, I regularly view LaTigresse's profile. She's cute, she's a friend, and I'm waiting to see if she can move that damn horse -- its been in the same place since July!

Just the other day, I had this BIG to do with a woman who was jealous of another. (Happens frequently to me.) She got all butch and in my face saying, "If you don't leaver her alone I will arrest you." As much as that excites me, I did my best to keep the peace. yeah that bothers me a lot more than having people look at my profile.

Or messages that are more like general spam messages of "Looking for a slave for a poly household, you must be this, this, this and this."
Kudos to those who know what they want, but fuck me sideways, you send them a message to politely ask them if they've read your damn profile, they respond with "Yes i've red ur profile"...
At that point, that is the green light to give them a serious blast of shit, and then use the "Block User" feature.
Or users that message you once asking for your IM contact info so you two can chat, and when you tell them "Uhm, no thanks, I don't know you well enough to give out that information" and they get bent out of shape.
*Face-palm*

Oh the rant I could go on.
