Sinergy…I’ve always wondered myself… I’ve had many a Why Me days and nights… what makes me different. No one and I mean NO ONE would purposely expose himself or herself to the ridicule the bisexual or gay man or woman faces every day. Not if they had a choice… at least I believe that to be the case.
There has to be something physical that at least opens you to the possibility of love or desire for the same sex. As you have said… you could not ever see yourself doing that. At least you like a lot of people in this lifestyle are tolerant…. if not understanding. In some ways our community is ahead of the general population. But I’m afraid as long as there is this absolute physical difference…. there will always be prejudice against gays. A lot if not most people have a hard time understanding gay desires and automatically think of them as deviants.

Bisexuality, to me, is a sexuality of convenience.

Could you explain what you mean by that? I find i want to be offended by the statement, but maybe i am just reading it wrong

I think we need to start a thread on the multiple divisions of bi-sexuality as to not to hijack this thread.  Then you will see what she means.

I think what is wrong with this society, at least the American one, is that we have to put people into categories.  We have to define everything/everyone.  By creating categories we will always leave someone out. Instead of defining people and pointing out differences, we need to focus on how we are alike... Okay so maybe I went off on a little rant there.  Sorry! *hugs*

It's a hopeful sign that this thread even exists. At least it shows that a section of the community is open to possibilities, not absolutely determined to shove people into boxes - and then punish them for it. This thread would not have been possible even a generation ago. It's still not possible in a number of societies. So I'm giving thanks for that small step at least.

Sex is sex and no great sign of which way someones heart flows..
Straight is having a relationship with someone of a gender different than the one you see yourself as being
and Queer is the inverse of that.....
just my humble two cents

I agree.

There was a poster who stated that I (being me, Sinergy) would never have sex with a man.

Which is not what I said.  Women attract me.  But there was a man in my life at the age of 26 that
I considered briefly making a pass at when we were camping.   We had been very close friends for years, and in that moment of time it seemed like a great idea.  I did not act on it.  Long story, but it made me realize that human sexuality is best described (as Freud described it) as polymorphously perverse.

I dont do absolutes (generally) but the male physique does not turn me on.  The spirit of a person is what does.

Hope that clarifies things.

My two cents worth ;    as a hetrosexual male I enjoy anal play and therefore could enjoy sex with another male but i could never kiss another male,   that's how I know i'm hetrosexual... and not gay or bi ...

just my opinion.

Simple issue.

Homosexual:  Sexually attracted exclusively to the same gender.
-Males are attracted to males, but not females.
-Females are attracted to females, but not males.
-This includes attraction that's not acted upon.
-This does not include acts not based on attraction.

Bisexual:  Sexually attracted to either gender.
-Males are attracted to males and females.
-Females are attracted to males and females.
-This includes attraction that's not acted upon.
-This does not include acts not based on attraction.

Heterosexual:  Sexually attracted exclusively to the other gender.
-Males are attracted to females, but not males.
-Females are attracted to males, but not females.
-This includes attraction that's not acted upon.
-This does not include acts not based on attraction.

A male sub forced to suck another male's cock by a Mistress is not gay.  He's obidient.  Now, if that Mistress trains him to desire sucking penis, then he is (probably) bisexual (or possibly gay, but then he shouldn't be with a Mistress!).

A female who really wants to play with other females, though never does, is either bisexual or homosexual (depending if this female also cares for males or not).

For the sake of definition, homosexuality/bisexuality/heterosexuality is a matter of present.  I do not know if it is more common or not for someone to switch sexuality or to simply deny part of it at times.  This is not relevant to the definition.  What is relevant is that, simply, one is defined by current attraction.  A former attraction, should it have expired, is no longer valid.

These are the definitions.  Some people are confused by who they are.  Others might fall in grey areas (such as an otherwise heterosexual female with an occasional lust for another female's breasts).  Definitions do not get specific enough to define this as one way or another.  Go with the typical answer ("heterosexual", in this case) and annex it with the deviation ("who likes another woman's boobs on occasion").

Q&A:

Q:  I experimented in college.  Am I bi/gay?
A:  Don't forget what college may have revealed about yourself, some other part of you, but don't confused yourself then for now. What are you attracted to now?  That defines it.  Also, you can be perfectly heterosexual and perform a homosexual act for other reasons (forced to, curiousity, etc.).  So long as neither lust nor sexual attraction were among these reasons, this does not make one a different stance.

Q: I'm a woman attracted to both men and women.  But I'm attracted to men more, and I've never done anything with a woman.  What am I?
A:  Bisexual who acts heterosexual.  You are bisexual.  You act, for some reason or another, like a heterosexual.
