I'm a yeller, a screamer and a thrower. My son moves me away from the kitchen and the knives when I start. I don't know why.[:)]

I slam doors. I mean REALLY slam doors. I prefer not to lash out with a nasty attitude, so I go for the old, solid doors. Apparently, I've always been a door slammer. I remember from my childhood being told to open and close the door ten times "nicely"...I don't have to do that now...hehe

Yoga and meditation just DO NOT WORK like breaking things does! I'm sorry, but "being a good girl" and doing these girly things ain't gonna cut it.
Glass is dangerous, so stick to old dishes. Punching a pillow? Hah! Go take a kickboxing class somewhere with a heavy bag, or a boxing class. If you run, go have the run of your life. Cycle? Go do speed work up a hill. Talk to yourself and self coach, bitch, yell, just use a hill in a different neighborhood. Works for running too...
Push comes to shove- get a tennis racket and beat up your sofa or bed.
Taking out a wall with a sledgehammer is astonishingly cathartic. And it opens up your living space; just not a supporting wall.
Don't attack anything with a machete or edge weapon in anger though- trust me, bad idea. But if you have access to those sleds football linemen use to train, they're sometimes interesting to take a run at... like at the local high school. Weight rooms are great if you know how to lift. You can get very very aggressive on iron.
I now have a signal whip just to do damage to weedy plants and toilet paper rolls with. And I yell. The neighbors are utterly intrigued- but know better than to come by during the show...

Don't be afraid to just get totally medievally violent on something. THEN go meditate. Just be sure to avoid things that could kick back and injure you in mayhem, no chainsaws.

DeliciousMorsel, thank you for that wonderful post! I was laughing and smiling while reading your words, you have a great sense of humor.

Living in an apartment certainly puts a damper on the more aggressive ideas, I don't think my landlord would appreciate me remodeling with a sledgehammer lol.

However, a friend left me with their heavy suede flogger, its shorter than most and works nicely for me, I went to town with it on a large square decorative pillow for 5 minutes and it did wonders!!!  I'm sure my neighbors did wonder about the noise but no one came a knocoking on my door!

thanks again.

Watch sad movies might help you cry. Otherwise, exercise. Hard exercise until the muscles are exhausted. Journaling, to get it all out.

Each person has their own way of coping with their frustrations, stress, turmoil, depression, etc. But i've found that writing things down in a poem format tends to help me, or i'll talk with my Dom about it (yes we have worked on it and am getting much better). But i also tend to do things that aren't quite "healthy" so to say. But i do agree with you, where's a good partner for a flogging when you need it???
