I havent met folks from CM yet, but I have from other sites. By and large, the experiences have been the same as the OPs..some good, some not as good. Can't say I've ever really had an overall negative experience with people I've met via the internet.
Well, cept for the one guy that is STILL trying to call me after I told him thanks but no thanks..... 18 months ago!! lol He calls, I don't answer, he doesn't leave a voicemail, so he's not stalking me... it's amusing, actually, if annoying...*grin*
