Is it just me, or does there seem to be some kind of stigma against younger subs? I just dont get it. It seems like nobody is interested in me because Im 20. I know Im not a bad guy, but no one is willing to give me a chance. Does anyone else out there feel like this?

I do know younger males seem to be the victims of age discrimination far more than younger females. Eighteen year-old slave girls aren't exactly the pinnacle of boredom to most men (or women). I know there are those women who enjoy the idea of younger males for their naiveté, plug-and-play egos and erectile prowess, but generally youth in the male is considered a sign of unwanted greenness, of crudeness, immaturity and risk. There is tremendous suspicion in the minds of women that you just don't get it no matter how much you say you do, and this suspicion is often well founded.

On a more positive note, I believe younger submissives are in fact little gold mines that can have much more plasticity in being conditioned. Their eager minds aren't filled with the bitterness and stubborn bias that can be found in older individuals. When they are authentically searching, young would-be submissives are bold, courageous and open-minded beings willing to throw themselves at the mercy of the tide.

Well, Ive adopted the philosiphy (and thanks to DV for helping me see this) that if someone cannot see past my age, they are not worth my time.

And that is an excellent philosophy. It worked for me in life.

DemonicSlave666 -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/14/2008 4:45:05 PM)

I actually thought I was the only one who felt like this but I guess I was wrong. I think it is a problem though because when I went to my first munch, everyone there were in their 40's or 50's and as soon as I walked in, it was terribly awkward. I was really nervous too and everybody seemed to already know each other there. I remember how these 2 older women told me they don't want to go to jail because I'm much too young. So yes age is a bit of a problem in my opinion. Not to mention I look much younger than my actual age (I am 20 years old).

CalifChick -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/14/2008 5:13:21 PM)

Maybe grow a mustache?

Cali

DemonicSlave666 -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/15/2008 1:34:19 PM)

Thanks CalifChick. I have thought about growing a mustache but it is honestly very hard for me, it just never happens. The only thing I can grow is this messed up beard patch thing that makes me look homeless and dirty, haha. Eventually I will look older but when I am 35 I will look 25 which is good in the future but annoying for now.

chellekitty -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/15/2008 2:09:00 PM)

i used to hate when people would tell me when i was 18, 19, 20, 21...that i was immature...i may not have a great length to look back from at 24 now, but i can honestly say that i don't think i was...but i can see what i was doing that they saw as immature...i did not have any direction in life, heck i still don't have a huge goal for "what i want to be when i grow up" but i have a lot more things ruled out then i did 6 years ago...so when i started a project and went, "oh shit, this isn't just boring, i am going to kill myself or someone else if i have to do this for the rest of my life" and stopped doing that...they saw it as immature...i see it as a learning process...knowing me, i can't read a description in a book and know that that "thing" whatever it is, isn't for me, i have to do it...and that is true in all areas of my life...unfortunately, i got labled a flake for a long time, still do on ocassion (take my current enrollement in school, i can do it, i'd be excellent at it, it's so fucking boring and tedious and i can't do other people's "art"...so i am "flaking out again"...or deciding it's not for me, because i didn't know that until i got imersed in it...and no one will help me find another way to imerse myself in it than to take classes in it, and i want to shred the useless books already anywho)

i don't know if this particullarly is the case for anyone else on here...but if everyone else is looking at me and seeing a duck because i walk like a duck and talk like a duck...maybe i should take a look in a mirror cause i'm pretty sure "they" aren't conspiring to get me...err not get me...

Just trying to help you look older.  Yep... no matter what your drivers license says, I would think it was a fake cuz you're so cherubic looking.  Hey... if you looked homeless and dirty, would you at least look like an older homeless and dirty guy??

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/15/2008 2:35:09 PM)

There is a great deal of discrimination here at collar me especially with the younger male slaves,WE don't have a problem with the young females but for some reason the young males get bypassed without having a fair shot...Some are too immature but for the most part the majority are ok...

thanks, i like who i am today too...

but my point was, if a whole bunch of people are saying something about you that you don't like, it's usually not all of them "out to get you"...it's usually something you're doing...and if you don't like the results you're getting...change what you're doing, don't sit on your pitty pot and whine about how everyone else should change...

MsSavra -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/15/2008 3:00:54 PM)

It's not young subs, I mind (on the contrary!), I mind people who are not serious, who don't want to serve me, but want me to serve their needs, who just want to play around instead of committing themselves etc. There are those at every age, just like there are wonderful diamonds at every age. The problem is not to find a sub of the right age, but to find a sub of the right conviction and mindset. But then again, it's the fact that they are rare that make diamonds so valuable.

Just my two Euro-cents,
MsSavra

lronitulstahp -> RE: Discrimination against younger subs? (2/15/2008 3:52:52 PM)

Perhaps part of some of the prejudice is due to the fact that many older practitioners of BDSM weren't able to come to terms with their roles at a young age.  Society has changed from the time when i was 20 compared to a 20 year old now, and that's only 12 years! Maybe it's more of a jealousy induced air of superiority.  Think of how many newbies are in their 40's and even older...having missed years of potential play.  Some may begrudge the opportunities these younger ones have.  Of course that's not everyone...but maybe a fair lot.

Iron?  Were you trying to be as funny as you were? Or am I taking it wrong?

do you honestly think that jealousy and envy doesn't drive a whole bunch of people to do some pretty shitty things? i've seen it with my own eyes...want to see it? ask around in the leather title holder community about the International Leather Sir 2006, the origninal one...if you can get to the real story...
