daddysgirl1978 -> What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 8:43:13 AM)

I am a newbie.. I just started playing last year.. My question is: what brought you to the D/s, M/s, and /or BDSM lifestyle? Was it a parter, dream, desire, or did you just fall into it?

I don't 'do' a 'Lifestyle' - I was and always have been myself and did what was groovy for me.

I'm a newbie too, starting to explore and accepting my true nature of submission just few months ago. [:)]

For me the discovering of D/s lifestyle was by my Dom. He is clearly a dominant person and he knew it some years ago. When we met - on line - for the first time our relationship was mainly vanilla, or at least, as vanilla as I though I was in my previous relationships. In fact, he made me notice that my behavior was submissive even if I didn't recognize it.
Then, I started to remember past situations, my choices, the things that makes me happy... I started to ask myself about my feelings and desires.

From this time to now, I was asking my Dom about BDSM lifestyle for two reasons: investigate if my true nature is really submissive, and for simply curiosity and desire to learn about it. So He was my door to this lifestyle.

(and yes... now I'm 99,9999% sure I'm a subbie  [;)] )

I pretty much went around trying to recreate past situations that had strong D/s aspects to them but were not “in the life”. It was not until I met up with a couple who where into this type of life and them showing me and helping me reconcile all aspects of my feelings and personality that this life was even thought of by me.

I guess I just pretty much wandered until I fell into it and realized I was home.

I was wandering along in life, minding my own business when I fell madly in love with a man who, amongst other things which I shall not mention, likes tying me up with leather cuffs -wrists and ankles, and doing unspeakable things to my bottom with the flat of his hand .. I was at some disadvantage, because he'd been doing these things to women for years (the last woman he did it to was with him for seven years), and I was a wide-eyed innocent!  Disgraceful, I call it! [:)]

I am afraid that your question is impossible to answer. I am not a part of any 'lifestyle'.

Eh, not a huge fan of the term lifestyle, but suppose i can answer anyway.

i fell into this weird shit back when i was sixteen for every wrong reason imaginable.  Now i stay for the right ones, right for  me at least.

I'm kinky.

It's other people who have the catholic guilt that makes them have to justify it as a "lifestyle".

scifi1133 -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 10:55:53 AM)

Its not a "lifestyle" to me. Its just the way I am. Not a term I use. But if your asking what the catalyst for finding out I was this way was. My first fantacies were of tying up people. So I dont know.

Thorns82 -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 10:57:07 AM)

I'd had submissive fantasies for most of my life.  Finding a partner who was willing to explore them with me was wonderful ^.^  I guess you could say I got him into it.

LadyRope -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 10:57:31 AM)

when did kink become a "lifestyle"?

takenbyjohnr07 -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 11:26:36 AM)

A dream, desire, passion, a deep never ending longing, and yes, when i met my Owner, i fell right into it, which suprised me since i really had no real time experience. It's all been a wonderful exciting dream come true, and i wish to never awaken from it. i wish the same for everyone.

TheEvilBstardsMo -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 11:35:37 AM)

I was always feeling that there was a piece of my life missing.  Had these feelings but no term to describe them.  Then, I stumbled on to a DS chat room.  From that point, I had found my missing piece.

Ahem.....don't you mean fiddlefucked in the head?

I too don't do the life style thing......Like popeye I yam what I yam. I think "lifestyle" is supposed to make people feel special. Either you are or you aren't, it has nothing to do with your........lifestyle

I just followed the enticing advertisement:  "Come to the dark side...we have cookies!"

Seriously, though...I'm a slave at heart.  It is who I am and I'm blessed to have found a lady I can devote myself to.  This isn't a lifestyle for me, it is my life and the way I choose to live it.  I have needs and wants, and this is the only way they can be met.  Life with Mistress is where I want to be. Vampyrefledgling -> RE: What brought you to this lifestyle? (1/30/2008 2:50:34 PM)

I'm pretty new to the lifestyle (kink, whatever you choose to call it) as well. I discovered this lifestyle kind of on my own, with the help of  some friends (online and real time) who helped me realize that my submissive fantasies, my desire to serve and really something lacking in all my previous relationships was the D/s factor. I hadn't been willing to acknowledge that the thought of being tied up, even the thought of being 'owned' (something feminists would have a stroke over) was something I  very much wanted. I realized that I needed a man who could (and more importantly would) lead me, in every possible way. My Master now is that man. Exploring this aspect of my personality with him has been exciting, nerve racking and continues to be an incredibly rewarding adventure. I don't think of it as a lifestyle, or a kink. I am  who I am and now I know what it is I need in a man. I don't feel like I'm shooting in the dark when it comes to dating and relationships anymore. Nevermind that I am with the most remarkable man I've ever known, I know what to look for and what traits I require in a mate. It's not a lifestyle for me, it is just who I am. And I love it!
