Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......Sorry to vent all, but here goes tonight's story.......

I play poker at a club every Wednesday and Thursday.   We have a very very outspoken and obnoxious lesbian in the crowd.    I only say that she is a lesbian because she is so insane about pointing it out and making an issue of it.   (Whatever)

Tonight we had a hand with 2 side pots (very complicated to figure out).   She had it right, I questioned her and then agreed with her.    She went all bitch on me even after I said she was right.

Finally....I very calmly said, "You're right, don't go bitch on me."

That set her off bigger than shit. "Don't call me a whore or a bitch"..........     She's also one that likes to brag about her combat prowess.   I finally told her to back down because I WILL kick your ass if you decide to go that way.

Calmer heads at the table defused the situation and she didn't look too inclined to avoid their efforts.   I remained calm throughout, but I was not going to avoid the confrontation either.

Not sure I handled it right, but it worked and I put her out of the game 3 hands later with an All In. :D

I hate people like that.   I just want to tell her to "Get over your damned self and get that diahrea of the mouth fixed."

(A sinister part of me would also enjoy an excuse to lay her out cold, but I keep that desire well tempered.)

Insecurity often makes people defensive, and when they get defensive, a common behavioral pattern is to get offensive.

Sounds like you handled it well. She'll either decide to "become friends", or she'll get worse, depending on the level of her insecurity.

*laughs* I am not that cool headed about it. I get amused when people get pissed off, and I escalate it with more sarcasm and little taunts. It's just good, quality entertainment. I know it's childish, but it is so damn hillarious to make someone lose their cool.

It sure had to be more amusing than playing poker. I don't ever play cards of any kind unless there are just no other options avaliable.

She's not a poor poker player, but she's not that great either. We have a couple of other females in the crowd that are insanely good and I'm pretty sure that one is a lesbian who doesn't advertise it. Speaking of Kim, she put me out tonight and it's not the first time she's done that. (sigh)

On the subject of getting people rattled, poker is a GREAT place for it because the rattled ones tend to bet hard when they should fold. I think that's why the second most dangerous people are the women who play very smart, non-emotional poker. The first most dangerous are the technical players who are also insanely lucky. Both categories scare the heck out of me.

A similar lesbian spent Sunday evening at my place, bitching, complaining, crying hysterically..

Why?

As much as I would enjoy that, I just don't see it happening.

On a side note, I've never put her out of the game but I have put one hell of a dent in her chip stack on several nights. :D We have a good friendship at the table, she usually gets the better of me when it's over but we have a lot of fun.

I do understand what you mean. A female friend of mine used to do the "I'm so tuff" thing constantly. She'd threaten guys with a punch in the face, etc. Until one dark and stormy night, when a new guy turned up and she started her routine. The guy said "you hit me, and I'll deck you". She did and he did. She never played the "I'm so tuff" game again.

Edited so the girl who knows nothing about poker can ask: Put you out for the night? Like the cat? You could have curled up in my bed.

We play no limit Texas Hold Em.   That means you start the night with a set number of chips and you can bet all of your chips at any given time if you desire.    When you are out of chips, you are out of the game (e.g. "put out").

We score points based on how far we get on any given night with only ONE winner being declared in a given night.   We have a big tournement at the end of the month for the top 32 point leaders.   The monthly winner takes home $100 cash (donated by the bar who hosts the games) and a bracelet.

It's a lot of fun.   None of the regulars take it too seriously and the dumb asses that play are quickly weeded out since we typically have 40+ on any given night.

First of all it isn't a real poker game if it is legal. Don't get me wrong it is lawful, just because they make something ilegal doesn't make it unlawful.

In a real poker game nobody causes any trouble at all, guaranteed. And serious players wouldn't anyway unless they caught on to someone cheating in THE GAME. I mean you can be fucking and beating up their sister and Mother every day, but it does not affect the game. You might get a visit on a boring Monday night, but the game is sacred.

When the game starts nothing else really matters. This is the test. This is the game, not like some sports playing seven games, this is it now. Heaven forbid if you are dumb enough to bet the rent money, that is stupid.

Actually gambling is more like work than fun for me. But then to win, that is what it takes.

But then I use real cash. There are no tokens or chips.

Anyway, if any type of gambling is going on, legal or otherwise, it is supposed to be a controlled environment. There should not be interpersonal distractions. Just the game. Whatever the game is.

Let me say this also about gambling, if you are a superior player in whatever, Holdem, who knows, and there are any kinds of teams, you have power. Tell them you do not want to go there anymore so you are recusing yourself from the games. That is gambling my friend, and when they say "Why ?" you know you have already won. Just tell them "I can't stand that broad, so fuck it". Do not say keep her away from me or anything like that. Make them make the offer to keep her away.

Now that is gambling and playing your cards. More in a figurative way, but if you spend money there, they will not just say fuck you. You are talking points and shit here, that implies a league, and if you are in the league you have a say. The games could be held in a different venue.

Hell I almost killed someone for telling me and another to stop arguing loudly in a bar. You gotta realize this person might have a similar attitude. But, you only have one life to live, and so do they and you just have them put out during tournament time. It happened when I hung with the pool league. They would actually tell a couple of people to leave when the games were going to start.

If the management of the establishment will not correct this condition, find somewhere else. Any venue could count their revenue even before you get there every week or whatever.

Think about it. And if this all doesn't work, maybe you could say she is stalking you. Your call.

So on your last game of your season, you all go up to the bar or whatever, get something and tell them you are not coming back. Been nice knowing you.

Now if their intelligence is that of a normal five year old or better, the question will be "Why ?". At that point you point to the person who is bugging you and I would bet at least twenty bucks that they would be gone, not you.

So you think about that. You have alot more power than you think.

Nobody has the right to bug you in a public venue. You are just as much part of the public as they are. Why don't you think of ways to fuck back without calling the suits ? Somewhere you should be able to find something that works, an Achilles heel of sorts. They fuck with you, fuck back.

Grab her by the tit, and when people ask, say "Well she was all over me so I figured she liked me".

You do have options.

As for it being sacred, go preach to that on the Gor forum because you won't see it in the casinos.   You will see many folks (like yourself) claiming to know all the sacred rules, but they typically don't know shit and don't survive past the second table.

As for the rest, I didn't even bother to read it.   I just scanned and saw more silly spew.

Damn right Muttling. I play In a weekly game thats real. For real money. With real players. I have also played in tournaments and in the worlds series....which by the way I won a satellite tourny to get a seat at. So go pedal your crap somewhere else.

What a coinky dink, I just played in the World Series at Tunica. I couldn't draw a string out of a cat's ass and got my butt handed to me on the second table. At least the drinks were free at the nickle poker and nickle slots.
