ooh ooh, tell me another one. Do pigs fly in your world, too?

mineral oil in no way breaks down the immune system. If anything it boosts it, but generally it's an inert substance in such arguments. It also works a hell of a lot better as a massage oil and moisturizer than anything else I've tried. Also great for burns, but petroleum jelly works better for burns and lips.

Hey go ahead and lather it on. I am watching pigs fly...

A quick google search.

Mineral Oil Fact Sheet
by Saasha Plefka

Mineral oil is a common ingredient in many household products. It is found in lotions, soaps, cosmetics and motor oil. Mineral oil is a clear, liquid oil with no scent and will not spoil. It is produced as a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil. Mineral oil is the leftover liquid, and because it is abundant, it is very inexpensive. In fact, it is more expensive to dispose of mineral oil, than to purchase it.

Mineral oil is the main ingredient in many baby care items as well. Baby oil, Vaseline® (petroleum jelly), baby wash liquid soap, and baby lotions all contain mineral oil as a key ingredient. As mentioned above, manufacturers can buy it very inexpensively and it will not spoil.

The problem is that mineral oil is foreign to the human body and has many harmful effects, especially on infants.

¤ Mineral oil acts as a thin plastic layer on the skin.

¤ It is difficult to absorb and clogs the pores, which slows the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins. Remember, the skin is the body’s largest organ and plays an important role in maintaining overall health!

¤ Once the oil is absorbed, it is broken down by the liver and passes through the intestinal tract. And once the oil is present in the intestinal tract, it will absorb all of the fat-soluble vitamins found there. It is essentially stealing important vitamins from the body, which the body will not be able to replace. This can eventually lead to nutritional deficiencies.

¤ Studies have also shown forms of pneumonia caused by mineral oil decreasing lung function, known as lipoid pneumonia. Because of these dangers, the medical community has condemned the use of mineral oil taken orally or as an ingredient in medications.

Given these harmful effects, when caring for babies, it is best to use all natural products. Many caretakers know that babies love to put their hands in their mouths. This also means that whatever is on their hands is also going in their mouth, and into their bodies. It is best not to chance your baby’s health with mineral oil and petroleum-based products.

This is especially true for infant massage. Use of an all-natural, vegetable or fruit-based, unscented oil is best. Natural oils are easily absorbed and digested by the body. And oils with added vitamin E will actually benefit the skin and act as an antioxidant.

2. Mineral Oil:

Baby oil is 100% mineral oil. This commonly used petroleum ingredient coats the skin just like plastic wrap. The skin's natural immune barrier is disrupted as this plastic coating inhibits its ability to breathe and absorb the Natural Moisture Factor (moisture and nutrition). The skin's ability to release toxins is impeded by this 'plastic wrap,' which can promote acne and other disorders. This process slows down skin function and normal cell development causing the skin to prematurely age.

The real question is: What kind of oil is in your product? Most traditional OTC (over the counter) products contain MINERAL OIL (classed as a petrochemical pollutant and xenohormone). The dangers of the mineral oils found so ubiquitously in the majority of cosmetic products is indeed a health hazard. A synthetic petrochemical which is used because it is incredibly inexpensive and has an infinite shelf life, it allows the large cosmetic companies to vastly boost their profit margin, at your skin's expense! It can have negative effects on hormones, cannot be absorbed by the skin, can also slow down cell renewal, and be the second (after the sun) most likely cause of premature aging. In fact sunscreens produced from mineral oil may promote skin cancer as well as colon and breast cancer. A derivative of crude oil (petroleum) that is used industrially as a cutting fluid and lubricating oil. Mineral oil forms an oily film over the skin to lock in moisture, toxins and wastes, but hinders normal skin respiration by keeping oxygen out. However, no cosmetic manufacturers put health warnings on their products, and in the US, the FDA does not require this information to be on packaging. In addition, it leaves an uncomfortable greasy feel because it sits on the surface, a suffocating barrier that causes skin conditions such as acne, blackheads, and whiteheads because the skin cannot breathe! The good oils are totally natural, totally bio-compatible, and totally bio-available, meaning they can be absorbed completely by the skin, even nourish and balance the skin. This is where the oil myth is busted.

i am with heartcream watching pigs fly![sm=flying.gif]
i have been taught as a massage therapist to avoid mineral oil.
Ideally you do not want to use anything on your skin that you could not safely ingest. i make all my massage oils from natural vegetable, olive and seed oils...

Hey, I love giving erotic oily massages, a good way to get your hands on delightful body parts. Well, there has got to be something in it for me.

But one thing I have got to recommend for gliding over those delicious curves is ;

' Wiccy Magic Muscles ',

a massage bar made by the natural cosmetics company; 'Lush'

made up of shea butter and other nice things, it melts with body heat and leaves the recipient slippy and slidy which is wonderful for some apres massage fun.

Oh, and the fragrance is wonderful, clove and cinnamon which I believe softens skin and increases circulation like 'Deep Heat'. The Aduki beans help to circulate the delicious oils into the skin.

Tip; Try Lush products, a whole different experience.

NEVER put oil on burns - nonononono.  Oh hell no.
Mineral oil is nothing more than a barrier really.   Baby oil also rots condoms and causes them to become porus.  Do not use with rubber based toys or impliments. (Although it does rock on leather) Never use baby oil on open wounds - very, very bad thing.  Baby oil is one of the worst items you can use on an infant.  You can use mineral oil on stains because it breaks up and rots many 'natural' oils and greases, so it is good to use as stain remover.  But it will rot cloth also over time.

Olive oil or wheatgerm rocks but mineral? Scarey product.

canupleaseme -> RE: Erotic Massages (2/1/2008 5:19:29 AM)

Ohhh I definatly recommend Lush massage bars [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]  I have two favourites one smells like chocolate and honey and is lickable and the other smells of geranium.

To the OP god no dont use baby oil yuk. Im  trained massage therapist and the only time I ever had to use baby oil when I forgot to take my normal oil to an appointment with me and that was all she had I felt dirty and hooker like using it.  The product you use for a massage is so important and if its wrong it can spoil even the best of massages.  Grapeseed oil is a really good base oil for most skin types but now I found Lush I will always use their massage bars.

Baby oil made out of Mineral oil is to be avoided in my books. It breaks down the immune system. Same with Petroleum Jelly. The massage part sounds lovely though.
Seriously? Mineral oil messes with the immune system?Ohwow. I use petroleum jelly as a heavy moisterizer during the winter and I have a load of auto-immune issues... I have never heard this before! Please do you have a site for this information? This worries me because I use it daily. Actually several times a day.[sm=hewah.gif]  ETA the scent of baby oil makes me gag lol. But mineral/pet jelly has always done a good job keeping moisture trapped to my skin, otherwise I flake. I've never found a single product I could use on my face without a skin reaction.Sigh.  Secondary ETA. Aw fudge. Yup. Just went to a rheumatology site. There goes my non winter reddened painfully dry skin. Whaaaaaaaa not fair not fair.

Aneirin -> RE: Erotic Massages (2/1/2008 7:14:00 AM)

I have got some odd stuff, I was given on a recent trip to Sweden and it is supposed to be used as a lip balm, but has many other uses, apparently one can make a candle out of it and fry food, oh and lube a bike chain.

Any massage at all would be enhanced with a Lush product for that use.  Fantastic stuff.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Erotic Massages (2/1/2008 3:05:51 PM)

Baby oil is greasy and nasty in my opnion and there's better quality oils to use. I'd think someone very cheap indeed if they wouldn't use something better quality than baby oil.  Other wise I like all parts of my body massaged.

Any women out there like to have a back, shoulder and neck massage with baby oil?

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Erotic Massages (2/1/2008 3:10:14 PM)

Not in my world. shit and piss showers an piss an shit all over doesn't do it for me. Unless the pigs were potty trained and wouldn't do their buisness while flying.

windchymes -> RE: Erotic Massages (2/1/2008 3:15:53 PM)

If the massage lasts for maybe a half hour or so before a penis appears, then yeah, a neck and shoulder massage would be great.
