solvr70 -> Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:27:34 PM)

i was in the airport the other day, and noticed a Woman with some very sexy leather boots on. just up to her calf, and easy to take off using a zipper when going through security.

i was wondering if any W/woman have had the much more eye-catching thigh-high black leather boots and had to take them off to get through security, and how people reacted.

Unless they were clearly fetish wear, high black leather boots are just plain sexy. Really a "vanilla" item of clothing that I don't think anyone would bat an eye at except to appreciate the view.

well i'm a guy but i made the mistake of wearing my big stompy 18eye boots. once laced they are the most comfortable footwear i own feel like second skin.

I got a few sighs and looks when i had to sit on the floor for 10 minutes and unlace them. then afterwards i put them back on and did a quick lace skipping every three eyes.

it most definitly wasn't a positive reaction. it was more of a "what the hell was this guy thinking"
of course i wasn't.

now its the quick zip up military boots.

Since I'm going to be flying soon, that reminds me to wear my comfy boots with the zipper...

LadyHathor -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:38:49 PM)

Actually its no big deal as everyone has to remove their shoes when they go through security-more the wonder of someone who gets the beeps of metal below the chest, and beyond---then taken to the strip search room---been there, done that and gave the guards the t-shirt.

When i was doing the airport shuffle a couple weeks ago, i was astonished to see how many women were wearing tall boots... not thigh-high, but i swear 1 out of every 3 women was either wearing knee-length leather boots, or those silly snow boots. i was shocked. i was so irritated by the whole citizen-suspect rigamarole that i didn't take the time to perv the removal process, though... probably would have gotten me arrested anyway [>:]

But everyone has to take off their shoes travelling in the US nowadays... shoes are verrrrry dangerous things, you know. Very dangerous. Really.

ProlificNeeds -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:40:24 PM)

Knee-high, laced, black, leather boots. Tightly laced. I had to take them off so just walked around in stockings until I got to my gate then put them back on when I had 10 minutes to kill lacing them back up.

Lucylastic -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:40:56 PM)

Personally I COULDNOT wear five/four inch heel booots to the airport, all those  slidey floors would have me on my ass soon after entering. and gawd knows how many times between there and the actual plane, and personal humiliation is becoming a hard limit.
I would probably also piss off a lot of people because now its mandatory to take off shoes and it takes me at least twenty minutes to get in and out of mine.
In my fantasy I would glide thru the airport attracting gazes of  fellow travellers, my hips sashaying sensuously...being followed around by nekid baggage handlers....
the reality would be my ass in the air  cos I cannot get a grip on the floor to get up.
Thanks, I will stick to my comfy shoes......
have Imentioned I HATE airports?
Lucy

GreedyTop -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:41:03 PM)

When I fly, I'll wear laceups, but while I'm shuffling through the line I start unlacing them so that when I get to the checkpoint, all I have to do is slide them off.  Then, I trot over to the nearest seats/clear spot that is out of the way and put them back on.

The only tall boots I own are clearly fetish wear, so I wouldn't wear them flying (even if they are more comfy than almost every other pair of footwear I own).

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 6:53:58 PM)

Last time I went through EVERYONE has to take off their shoes. That's why I wear sneakers.

Yeah, I'm pretty boring....I wear my easy to kick off and slip back on Sketchers.

daddysliloneds -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 7:32:03 PM)

i had to take off flip-flops to get through airport security...

with my thigh high leather boots, i'd need some assistance in getting them off because they're like a second skin when they're on, and to be quite honest with you, i wouldn't be paying attention to others reaction to them because if i wore them anywhere outside of the bedroom, then i'd be expecting or asking for a certain reaction in the first place!  it's hard enough walking from one room to another in them, i couldn't imagine trying to walk through an airport it them.

I made the mistake of wearing "bondage" pants (what raver pants with a lot of O rings and zippers have to do with bondage is beyond me) through airport security about a year ago. I was heading back for home earlier than expected, and those are some of the comfiest pants I own, so I didn't give it a second thought... until after I had already checked my baggage, and realized how much bloody hardware I had on.

Yeah, the guy that sent me off to be wanded was laughing his ass off.

As for tall boots.... I always wear shoes that I can slip in and out of when traveling now. ^_^ Given the frequency with which I travel, I no longer wear lots of difficult to remove jewelry, either.

I agree...."they" are afraid "we" will walk all over them...death by stiletto...(I saw that in a movie recently and since I saw it on the big screen it must be true)  LOL

I can...I LOVE the sounds the heels make on all those tile floors....if you walk to a rhythm you can make music.. (click clack stomp...shuffle shuffle...click clack stomp...shuffle shuffle)...just enough to annoy everyone else..>LOL Pamela

i wish!

As a below-knee amputee, i have to always step to the side and sit in a chair and take off my prosthetic leg so that it can be searched and, while they're at it, they check my palms for chemical residue and wand my stump.

Most people don't pay too much attention, though, since they are just concerned about getting through security and on their way as quickly as they can.

The hardest part for me is having to wear shorts, no matter what the weather is, so that i have easy access to my prosthesis.  If i have long pants on, the only way my prosthesis is coming off is to pull my pants down and that would be even more time consuming and a hassle.

Unfortunately, they don't make a prosthetic leg with a side zipper.

Ach!..slip on Birkenstocks!!..less muss less fuss...while my appearance is generic for the most part while travelling..I have never felt the need to impress any one in an airport...of course if travelling to see someone special..I have packed in my carry on ,all the necessary things to go from plain jane to MILF in 5 minutes or less..:0)...Tempting

CalifChick -> RE: Thigh high black leather boots and security at the airport (1/31/2008 8:16:47 PM)

Joy, I was thinking there HAS to be a solution to the issue of being able to access your prosthesis, without having to wear shorts.

These are pants that have "full size zippers".  From the pictures, and from the reviews, it looks like they unzip all the way up the leg (from either the top OR the bottom).  That link is to a women's version, but they also have a men's version here in case men's pants fit you better.  They are designed to keep you warm outdoors.

These pants have zip off legs.  You could zip the one leg off just before you get into the security line, then put it back on after you're on the other side.  You would stay warmer that way.  I have seen pants like these in many stores, Target, Walmart, etc., in the mens department.  The link is to a women's style.

These pants are similar to the first ones above, with a full side zip, but I believe they are thinner (and cheaper).

And here is a link to a number of styles, available at different websites.

Thank you, Cali.  That was really nice of you to post those links.  Those pants could be handy for a lot of people, whether amputees or not.  California girls are the best in the world! (of course, i'm slightly biased, being a Golden State native myself)[:)]
