Your country's movie industry,

From what movies you have seen, what do you think they say about your country?

To yourselves?

and the rest of the world?

Can you list a movie which does not paint you in a good light?

and one you think does?

I don't care what they say or put much thought into what they may say about the country. All though if some of the movies are an indication I'd say it says some people love REALLY stupid pointless movies.

i've done some thought on the subject and i think MOST of them make us look rather silly to the rest of the world, if not downright obnoxious. but then i'm not in the movie industry and can't do anythign about it so shrug.

I thought all the major studios were multinational conglomerates?

Other than that, everyone I've ever met in real life is exactly like characters in the various Chuck Norris movies.[:D]

Hollywood hasn't had an original story in 50 years, most of their films are "Americanised" versions of foreign films.

"Redacted" is one that definitely shows us a side to the war that we're not proud of. Others, about Abu Ghraib, and Gitmo, will come eventually.

But these only reflect the state of things as they are under our current defacto dictatorship. Once Bush and his cronies have been ousted, there will also be movies about how America will have brought itself back from the brink.

I mentioned it before, on another thread, but lately, I keep getting flashes of recognition to the movie "They Live." Sometimes, I also feel we're heading in the direction of "The Handmaids Tale."

A good movie is one would would watch a 2nd and 3rd time.

Ill ask Jerry Springer about our movies ...lol
