Anyone in a relationship with a partner that travels a lot? How did you ever get going when you were first starting out? me: Trying to decided if I want to get into a situation where the other half travels a lot. They have a home base close by but are not there all that often. I am not really in the position to drop everything and travel with them. Thoughts?

I travel a lott (not all the time)..mostly I have a company phone and a laptop with internet. I call daily when gone no matter how far I am away. MY boss knows..if he forbids this..he can look for soem one else. IN the breaks...I try to email..either from the work place..or the hotel. It doesn't make up for not beeing to gether, but the ones I am with..know this is part of my life and job....and they accept me traveling. But it can be hard. Also I agreed when I leave more then 1 month...I come home every second weekend.

Before a back injury I was a OTR truck driver so I know what being away from my submissive feels like. In my opinion the best way to deal with this issue would be to set up rituals for the submissive during the Dom's absence. That helps but it still doesn't solve the problem. The other thing that can be done is if he has a lap top and you have a computer there are other ways to connect like the sinulator or second life http://secondlife.com/ you can do things there that you cant in RT. he he Hope that helps and good luck.

I know when I was doing the traveling I'd keep in contact via Skype.

When my Owner cannot be with me. for instance he went away for the weekend for the superbowl and i'm home sick. He calls me at least six times a day. It makes me feel so good and so close to him. oSo Your phone calls and E-mails i'm sure make her feel womderful and Your absence a lot easier to handle. i think it's great that You keep in touch. Some people don't.

Daddy lives long distance to me. and cant see me as much as he'd like. so we email and IM when we can, text message and talk on the phone too. and then really enjoy each other's company when we ARE able to get together. kitten

Is your partner a flight attendant? If so you have to realize she/he probably doesn't like being away any more than you like her/him being away.

vinyl, being the one that travels alot, I can tell you it is more than difficult. Thus far I have found no answers, thus I am solo for many years, CP
