well to be honest string is something only to give a cat when you can supervise them with it.should a cat ingest it for some off the wall reason it can get caught in their tummys and cause severe problems turning into vet bills any pet owner would not want to see.

try those feather toys that are on the sticks and another one that can be amusing is a ball of aluminum foil.

always remember though to pick toys carefully just as one would for a child,for alot of people our pets are just that,'kids" and family.

I have two cats, one loves catnip while the other one isn't affected by it at all. So don't be surprised if your kitty doesn't like catnip.

all seriousness aside i have to say this considering what i just chased form all 8 of our cats getting as a "play toy", get a gerbil.lots of kitty fun when they are in a cage watching the little fuzzy critters.kitty tv we call it.

actually i had to contend with this twice today. we had thought the cats were pshing the cover open on the gerbils cage, i would not have beleived this if i had not seen it twice today, the freaking gerbil is pushing on the cage lid and jumping out on it's own accord......................it's gonna be a long day chassing cats and gerbil

My kitties love to play with a scrunched up
wad of notebook paper, we call them "crumples"
the kitties love these more than any of the hundreds
of toys I have bought them.

They play together with them, shoot them around
like a hockey puck and 2 of them retrieve them and
bring them back to be thrown again.
