I'm writing this without reading your profiel, however my profile used to be long, detailed, and received few replies - when i asked a fellow CM-er it was suggested that many may think the reader had to meet all the info listed. Also what you write (at first) is not necessarily what is read! Overtime you learn to write with as little ambiguity as possible. When I first came on this site thought some of the profiles were down write rude. (DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT CONTACT IF YOU ....) Now several months later, i struggle with the desire to commence many responses with - have you actually READ my profile? but i digress So now the profile is rather short. It seems to pique interest, enough to attract those that are curious, or share my interest. I too am very much a newbie, not a life-styler, however it's very much a part of me. My location and lack of transport seem to be the two biggest hurdles for thost that used to contact, that and the criteria that are deal breakers for me now form part of my profile. As my experience broadens and deepens, i adjust the profile/journal. It's ever evolving. What ever you have now, wont be the same in a month or again in 3 months. Good luck!
