I'm honestly not sure... i turned it off a few seconds after the last snap, but there was probley about 30sec-1min between the time that it was announced there was one second left to play and when the game was actually over, so even if he wanted to i'm not sure he would've made it back in time to actually "see" the game is, and i'm not sure what else there was for him to do, having already said his piece to the other team.  It is possible he returned at some point later though.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/3/2008 9:31:15 PM)

yes there was atleast 1 second left...it actually ticked down to zero...but they put 1 back on.  stupid really...nothing would happen cause its just kneel down.

you would think....but in a college game...the same thing happened andthe guy ran down from one end to the field and WON  the game...while fans, news crew, players...all thought it was over and were on the field...cept for the guy with the ball..who ran ALL AROUND these people as he knew there was time left...to score the touchdown!!! one of the most spectacular events in football.

AxilX -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/3/2008 9:38:50 PM)

did his team have the ball, or was there a fumble?  The second is a lot more important when you can get a play off.  While it's possible you can fumble a kneeldown, it's really really hard to do so, and even harder not to recover it yourself.  Anyway, i agree they ought have played out that last second, i'm just not sure Belichek ought to be faulted for not coming back after already taking care of the formalities.

DomKen -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/3/2008 9:39:41 PM)

Fact is if Belichek left the sidelines then he didn't remain on the field until his team had really lost. Beyond the faint possibility something could have happened to change the outcome he wasn't there to see his players through that last play.

If true very very bad sportsmanship.

i didnt see the game..only a highlight of it.  likely that they had the ball.
i dont watch college stuff... WAYYYYYY too many teams.

At this point, i'm pretty sure you haven't actually read what i posted when you asked for further clarification on the issue, how is it his fault if the game was thought to be over, he left, and then the ball was snapped?  That's silly.

DomKen -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/3/2008 9:54:20 PM)

You're the one thatsome time passed between his leaving the field and the last snap. Is that incorrect? Certainly some player came up the tunnel to tell him there was still time on the clock. Did he come back? If not he has sunk even deeper in my estimation and I already considered him a cheat.

Tom Petty kicked Ass!
Was there a football game too?

I also said there was no way he could've actually seen the snap, as there wasn't much time between the revelation the game wasn't over, and the actuality of the game being over.  I'm sure someone told him there was a final play, but probley after it had been completed.  And i doubt anyone was in a rush to get him anyway, the patriot players, coaches and fans were probley all a little more preoccupied with the fact they just lost thier chance to make history. heh.

subboi3382 -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/3/2008 10:12:27 PM)

the patriots turned the ball over on downs, he shook Coughlin's hand when everyone was on the field, but he did look bad leaving before the game ended

Well good for him on that job.

Now can we talk about the SB fashion?  What did everyone think of Bill's red hoodie?  What happened to the gray one?  Did he need to brighten it up for the special occasion?

How in the world did Eli escape a sack on that completion in the 4th quarter? And what a catch. That was the turning point of the game. Normally Eli would get sacked and The Patriots win. Not today.

mhawk -> RE: Superbowl: Giants won. (2/4/2008 3:30:58 PM)

i just gotta say,we watched the game all the way through, was a tight game but well played by both teams.

Might be the high-point of halftime shows.

Giants won.  Not that I know anything about the sport, but half a thousand drunken kids outside of my dorm room are screaming about it.

Grats to Giants fans.

The Seahawks got robbed.
