atendersoul -> what is within a name (2/4/2008 8:26:42 AM)

she wonders of the Masters here.....do You change Your screen name with each new sub or slave You have?
with respect, atendersoul

ProlificNeeds -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 8:28:43 AM)

I imagine those who do wouldn't tell, they're likely trying to hide.

Dnomyar -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 8:36:35 AM)

Why would you need to change your name because of a parting. If you have had a dramatic change in yourself  then a name change would be in order.

Jeffff -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 8:40:46 AM)

Why would I do that, the is my name, with a few extra f's. Is this a question about online relationships only? Do you suspect something of someone?

Jeff

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 8:44:41 AM)

NO I haven't change handle since the advent of computers, why should I,WE do have a different couple handle...BountyHunter

CalifChick -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 9:22:25 AM)

I would think you would only make this mistake once... if your name is "OwnerofJill" and then you dump Jill, well, shit, whatcha gonna do then?  Find another Jill?  Or maybe think ahead on the next name choice?

Cali <-- will always be a chick, so thinks she made a good choice

kinkypuppy2 -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 9:40:49 AM)

No why would I , I do have 3 "names" here but its not a secret at all as I cannot get into collarchat with 2 of them for some reason. I do respect those who for family or employment reasons disguise themselves, but my slave and I are very open to everyone as to whom we are.

Padriag -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 10:05:48 AM)

No... like Jeff, its my given name.

CalifChick -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 10:46:54 AM)

Ahhh, I see another interpretation to the original question.  I thought the question meant if your screenname reflected your status as an owner or master of someone else.  But I see it could be taken as trying to start fresh (i.e., "hide" from the sub you left behind).

There is something to be said for starting fresh if you've made such a bad impression on a group that there is no hope for salvation.  I wouldn't make it a habit though; I'm thinking once in a lifetime is about the limit for that.  Otherwise you need to seriously rethink your behavior.

~Fast Reply~

I can see doing it if they had a couple's profile and SN reflecting that.

MissJana -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 10:59:06 AM)

I changed my name once I was more comfortable as a Domme. Jana is my real name, have no problem using it online. [:D]

I'm sorry Cali, I just have to laugh at this. Priceless! lol

OP, I have had MistressOfGa since I opened my account on CM. I suppose I could change it to reflect my move to Arizona, but I don't want to. I like my MoGa :)
However, my pup (pupofmoga) will have to change his, I would think. Unless of course he meets a Mistress that goes by the same handle as I do [8|]

Celtic is my heritage.
Lord is what I aspire to be.
2112 because I am an eternal Rush fanatic.

Why would I ever change any of this?

Don't lie. I know all about those extra f's. Each other is a girl you've dumped on the side of the road, you man-whore!

LordShadow -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 3:58:55 PM)

Tal and greetings,
No there is no need to change mine, I do however make them change theirs, I give them names when the come to me, that name stays with the Home if she leaves.

I have no idea what you are talking about?

undinerising -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 4:38:21 PM)

I don't see why I would. My name is who I am, not who I'm with. Similarly it would kinda bug me if a sub I was involved with changed his/her handle to reflect involvement with me- it seems like it would send a signal of 'I base my whole identity off this one relationship', which frankly is way more sub than I'm prepared to handle right now.

sunshinemiss -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 4:53:23 PM)

Not a Master... but I did change my name....

I used to be fsub4use back when I finally came back to accepting that I really am submissive and do love it.... But I found that it was getting in my way with being seen beyond something sexual.  Silly me I hadn't thought of it in that way at all.  Aren't I naive? lol  So I thought about who am I really?  And everyone calls me Mary Sunshine or "here comes a ray of sunshine" .... so now this is my name.

DragonLadysFire -> RE: what is within a name (2/4/2008 5:13:37 PM)

My name is who I am and I wouldn't change it even if I got or left a sub.

No, no reason to. I'm still me.

Just curious: Why do you think a Dominant would want to do that?
