What if you decide later on that you do not want to do this?  Can't you be happy with what you have rather than what you don't?

this is actually a good point. most states are not goign to allow you to make an appointment with a surgeon until you do therapy with a gender specialist and they give a letter of clearance and an assertion that you are in fact trans and not showing symptoms of something else. i'm not sure if you have taken that step but you need to if you haven't. around here it sometimes takes at least six months before they'll even issue a ftm their testosterone and then they have to 'live' as a man for sometimes at least that long again to make sure that it is in fact the right choice for them. so make sure you have everything in place first.

that being said, no sometimes its not enough to just have what you have and be happy. and i know you probably mean it well intended but it's this attitude that makes it so hard to be trans or an ally, because it is so hard to understand if you haven't lived/been close to those who are living with it. though there's  not way of knowing if the op really is trans or not but like someone else said it doesn't scream of being a fake post.

i had a foster sister wayway back in the early 80's who was a cd, she was the most beautiful person i ever knew. all girl, (i never had any idea otherwise till after she died) wanted the surgery more than anything else in the world, but she couldnt get cleared because of her heritage, she was a big girl and the doctor decided she "wasnt girlie enough" because of that, she wound up suiciding because she just couldnt take it anymore. my eyebrows are modeled after hers ;)
she was my first example of how to be a girl lol
i also knew another girl about 10 years ago who was a hermaphradite (sp?), who could not get cleared for surgery just because the doctor thought she "was girl enough". im not going to describe her bits here, but can assure you she wasnt really girlie enough. the doctor told her it was just cosmetic and she neeed to learn to deal with it. she couldnt, and wound up going to thialand for the procedure. she emailed us often with updates leading up to, and right after her procedure. then the emails just stopped and no one ever heard from her again.
i dont know what the psych requirements are, but im guessing theyre pretty stringent, because these were to of the most amazing women ive known. and if a psych didnt agree with that....

standards of care in canada = 2 psychiatrists signatures saying your a girl and not crazy.  it is due to a result of many suicides after surgery and leading into surgery.  because of this ontario gov't cancelled funding in 1998-99.

psych's can be hateful toward us as well and will never give signature which can cause many major issues.  you can see one for 10 years for instance before finally getting a sig.  but here you need 2 sigs!  ridiculous!!

and its hermaphrodite ...named after hermes and aphrodite son.

sort of kindof baby hijack--there's a book you might be interested in, called sexing the body. it's about how doctors make the decisions they do when a baby is born intersexed. it's sort of sad, in the sense that it'll also sort of anger you. it's an interesting read anyway.

Are you talking about total SRS or just dropping the grapes not the vine?
