Griswold -> Seriously...I can't believe I'm the only one.... (2/4/2008 5:41:56 PM)

...that saw the ads for the "Amish incredible energy cost saver invention..."  http://www.alternativeconsumer.com/2007/12/09/heat-surge-fireplace-whats-up-with-that/

I saw this about 3 weeks ago in my local USA Today and I was thinking "HAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!  Wait just a fucking MINUTE HEEEYAAAAAR!!!!!  This thing is ELECTRIC!!!!!!"

Now...if they'd have come up with something that required 3 cows and gave me a 6 to 1 ratio against turds to HD video....I'd have been in on this....but what the fuck CHUCK??????

Who the hell came up with this??????

It seems to me, in a medium such as this...the Amish are the only safe group to mock....I mean..how are they gonna know?

I don't know, if they bent their rules to build this sucker you just never know what they have buried out there in the barn under the stack of hay.......

This is an adults-only site, so you won't find "church Amish" here.

>>Edited to clarify - Amish minors are allowed to live in an "English" manner - cars, etc. They might have access to computers through friends.<<

But "house Amish" are more lenient - they just might have electricity.

If you read the article the amish are NOT building the electric part.  They only built the cabinet it comes in...someone else has the electric part.

Also I have a relative who lives in Indiana..she owns 250 acres in Amish country..right in the middle.
So, the Amish are her neighbors..anyway the sect she lives by can use anything they want.  As long as they borrow it.  So its sort of like can I borrow your truck?  As long as you don't sell it to them.  Humorous if you really think about it.

Anyway the neighbors helped them build their house...it is definately a treat to see.
