It happens almost every single day. If not, several times a week. I get this nice long letter of introduction complete with detailed history and petition qualifications. Sounds good. I go to hit the reply button. All of a sudden I notice at the top of the original email "You can not respond to the email because profile is not longer valid" Or, something to that effect. WTF!!! Why in the hell do people write such an extensive email then poof themselves off of here? What the heck is up with that?? I could understand it happening once in a while. Someone who is scared to finally writes, hits the send button, then the fear returns and they run. But for crying out loud I believe I saw an "unsend" on there somewhere. But I get these way more often than I think it should be. Not just a scaredy cat here and there. Is this a unique experience? Do others find this to be happening more often? Just a little venting here and wondering why such stupidity would even surprise me anymore. But, this does.

I tend to think that many people new here think that we have nothing to do but sit at the computer all day---and when the reply doesn't come in an instant, they leave.

Yes, this happens a bunch. I know that there are at least one or 2 men on here that create profiles that sound exactly like you describe. They wait until a Domme resoponds to them. They usually want to get on IM right away. I talked to one once, to my chagrin. He sounds like the perfect slave and he has done his homework. Knows all the terminology, has a pretty believable background story. After chatting for a while, he'll send a message saying that he doesn't believe in anything he said and just gets a thrill from posing as a slave. He deletes his profile and IM immediately. He then creates a new profile and does it all over again. I've seen him pop up at least once every 2 weeks or so. This particular one is from NY. Here's what I replied the last time he wrote to me: "Hmmm, talk about sounding too good to be true! So, have you been getting many people responding to you before you tell them that you're actually vanilla and get a thrill talking to a Mistress and posing as a slave, but you really don't believe in anything you said, then deleting your profile and messenger address just to create a new one to do it all over again? You know, maybe if you'd be upfront about it, someone may indulge you in your roleplay fantasy. But, that would probably ruin it for you, knowing you haven't duped the Domme, wouldn't it. Have a nice evening." What happened? You guessed it, deleted his profile within the next 2 days. This is why I usually take a week to respond to any message from a profile created the same day the message is sent. More often than not, the profile disappears within the week.

If it's the guy who has a looooong profile about how he can legally be a slave to you and sends you a looooong email much the same, don't worry about it - he creates these names and profiles (according to him, he basically lives in every major city), and dumps them regularly. If you haven't gotten an email from him yet...don't worry. You will ;-)

That's one of them, I've gotten that one a few times! There are 2 others that do regular mass mailings.

Yea...I got one from a guy that is about being a "Chattel Slave" complete with previous owner info and how to legally bind him. I kind of bit on that one a little, then blew him off. About 2 weeks later I get the EXACT SAME PROFILE with different name. Same previous owners, the whole schpeil. Emailed him and said to get more original. He denied copying his own profile and said there must be a "plagerist" in the midst. I laughed and blocked him.
