I test abour the same now as I did when I was a child if that test online is any indicator. Still firmly in the 130s, which suits me just fine.

I'm actually above average, although I came in a litle low to join MENSA. (It seemed like a pretty dull group, anyway.) But I have found that I seem to be FAR above average in artistic and creative abilities.

Intelligence and other attributes, measured by some test, usually come up short on actually defining an individual's ability. I have an uncle who is only slightly above retarded according to most "fashionable" testing, yet he created his own business, and is quite successful. None of the IQ tests he took ever thought to measure for ambition, leadership, or work ethic.

They couldnt get me to join MENSA... buncha boring stuckup bragarts... ick.

IQ has nothing to do with drive.. or the will to do anything with ones life, or succeed. ( my son's father being the perfect example of this. His IQ is in the 160's but has never done anything with his life, and he never will. Very artistic though. Has been published because I pushed him to. The man is completely lacking in common sense. )

My brother who was moderately illiterate when they just passed him in HS, and who participated in the Special Olympics because of a mild retardation now owns large New car lots in Chicago, was named #2 New cars sales man in the United States in 2007. Has a huge house in "The" place to live in Chicago burbs.. and is a huge success story. He made himself smarter.

I wish I had his kind of drive.... ( not his high blood pressure, and heart problems mind you...)

Gwyn,
who isnt saying what her IQ is.. as it doesnt matter... what you do with your life and what you learn does.

I agree w/Gwyn, I think that at a certain point a high IQ can lead to difficulty functioning in the "real" world, based upon a few people I have known.

i only have one IQ point [&o]

lol... True.   I wonder why?

Okay, I'll fess up first though I don't put much stock in IQs.  I've met too many idiots who have high ones.  Mine's 146.

And I'm sure there's just as many people who think I'm an idiot.  [;)]

greyangelus -> RE: Whats your IQ? (2/6/2008 10:46:10 PM)

The reason why there's no "under 100" is because I plain simple didn't even think to put one in.  I'll be first to say IQ test don't even come close measuring anyones true potential at succeding at life, thers just too many variations in people to even begin to quantify such things.

Consider it a "just curious" poll at best.  Mines 134 on average.

There was a pretty good thread on this subject a while back.

144... wow, smarter than I thought

KatyLied -> RE: Whats your IQ? (2/7/2008 5:47:18 AM)

I have no clue what my IQ is, but I selected 145+ because it's fun to skew polls.  I don't think people in the "lifestyle" are more intelligent than people in the general population.  Although I often think they may be dumber.  sorry.

That was the script for every teacher's conference my parents went to.

KatyLied -> RE: Whats your IQ? (2/7/2008 7:40:44 AM)

My second child lived that.  I was surprised that all of those teachers with master degrees couldn't help problem solve it.

Raechard -> RE: Whats your IQ? (2/7/2008 11:18:54 AM)

My IQ is around 100 I guess. I did this online test once that told me it was higher than that but then they said I could buy a certificate from them showing my score. An obvious ploy to make money but I'm sure someone fell for it and that is why the scores here hardly follow any kind of standard distribution you would usually expect.
