I think, being in the lifestyle, it causes us to sometimes have that perspective on the world. I do it both with celebrities, people on the street and people I interact with. I annoy my (very vanilla) sister all the time by telling her she tops from the bottom. (conservative Christian lifestyle). My Dad and step mom are vanilla, but, trust me, I lived with them for a while, hang around and you will have no doubt that my dad is submissive in the relationship, even though I know they are vanilla. ( How do I know? We talk.)
Master tells me that he has read that one of his favorite TV personalities, Rachel Ray, is in the lifestyle and is submissive. (I am sure that is serious fantasy fodder for Himself). My favorite author has woven a considerable amount of BDSM into her storylines, even to the point of, not just Kinky sex, but specifically lifestyle, being in the lifestyle, the social dynamics of the lifestyle. On top of that, her dedications to her husband would make me suspect she was kinky (Stuff like - 'for always accepting my darkest side and letting it bloom', ect.), but wouldn't convince me beyond a doubt. What absolutely convinced me was hearing an interview with her. After her book in which one of the characters was active in the local BDSM community, going to community social functions, ect; the interviewer made a joke with her about that part of the book, said something about 'being on Top', or something - she let the joke fall flat and claimed not to get it. She was saying that she didn't know what a 'Top' or 'bottom' was, ect. If she were not in the lifestyle, her books, by that time, would have taught her that much in research. It was a case of 'protesting too much innocence'. [;)] I do not know, however, if she is sub, Domme, or switch. (Laurrell K. Hamilton, BTW).
