Ok I am tired hormonal and this is my monthly bitch.

Why do people need to quote an entire post (particularly the op) when they reply, the threads around this place are long enough.

I understand cutting and pasting or bolding a particular point and then replying to it, but just quoting the whole post is so fucking frustrating.

ok thankyou for reading and goodnight

(Oh and any bets on how many smart asses are going to quote this post just for funnies)

Also, because they're lazy, and it's easier to nest five generations of quotes rather than edit them to highlight the relevant points.

They should be whipped into shape  .

That's how I tend to work, but I'm a Virgo so I have a neat eye for detail.

If you like, I'll do it for you, for a fee.

I don't, I quote it and take out what wasn't revelant.  Then respond.  I also like quoting something if it is a page in or so...because usually by then the topic is real off.

People are lazy..nothing much other than that.

And I have adaptive software that reads the messages to me. Having to listen to the same posts over and over again is not only not helpful, it is boooooring.

Look up above the typing box in the reply area. See that little dialog balloon between the <% and the ABC/checkmark? Before you click on "reply," copy the part of the post you want to reply to, then when you're in the reply box, click on that icon and paste the copied quote between the "quote" codes. You can go back and forth between the reply page and the original thread page if you want to copy more. With this feature, you can even quote from more than one post - you just have to remember to make a note of who you're quoting. (Cite your sources.)

Alternatively, you can delete the non-relevant portions of the post you're quoting. Either way takes a little extra time, but those reading your post will thank you.

Deleted because I hit "quote" instead of "edit" - I never claim to be perfect. [embarrased smile]

Good on ya, Ron! Does this mean you won't be cynical and acerbic?

Why are there so many threads now telling people here how to be and how to post?  Geez people live and let live.

FR~

Ron's Aria:

Memries,
Like the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? could we?
Memries, may be beautiful and yet
Whats too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So its the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember...
The way we were...
The way we were...

Simply hide the posts of such posters.

Font is another such issue. I recently hid the posts of someone who uses excessively large and coloured font.

Love has locked us up, peaches,
Locked inside this zoo,
Your bananas get thrown at me
And mine get thrown at you.
Ev'ry night we fuss and fight
Like me and you know who,
I guess love is always just:

Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (would i lie to you?)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do.

Do you want my love, peaches?
Do you want my rage?
Or do you merely like to see me shake my cage?
Your papayas get thrown at me
And mine get thrown at you,
I guess love is always just:

Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (would i lie to you?)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do.

You won't let me near you, peaches,
But one day you will.

Gonna jump up and stumble and eat all the jungle
Until i've had my fill.
Then you'll know the truth, peaches,
One and one ain't two,
One and one is one and love is:

Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do,
Would i lie to you? (would i lie to you, baby?)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do. (love is, love is)

Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do,
Would i lie to you? (would i lie to you, baby?)
Love is monkey see and monkey do, (that's all it is, peaches)
Love is monkey see and monkey do
