A friend of mine has mentioned that a pagan festival we'll be attending is in need of 'adult programming'. I'ts been a little hwile since I've been to this one in particular, and if I'm going to present I'd like it to be something useful. Unfortunately the ideas need to be in long before the registration of most attendees, so I'm not in a position to ask them before I go.

This brings me to CM. What would you enjoy seeing in a BDSM workshop at a spiritually angled event? For the moment I know I will be doing a 'ritual in play' workshop/roundtable. Beyond that, I'm open to ideas :)

I would really like to attend a workshop that focused on incorporating energy work into BDSM. I've included a link below to a really awesome page, and also cut and pasted the first chapter. It seems like it would be a great fit.

Many folks in the various segments of the Neo-Pagan community move energy around for various purposes - healing, spellwork, nourishment. It's one of the basic things we are taught when we first come to these paths. Yet most people don't think about incorporating magic and energy work in their S/M practice, perhaps because it seems dangerous. This chapter will discuss uses for energy work that are reasonably safe, or at least can be made so. After all, if we have it, why waste it?
The drawback to these techniques is that they are really the top's job, like learning to wield a whip or a cane. While there are techniques for bottoms to learn that help them to achieve certain states of mind, these are generally things done to themselves, and not skills used between two people. If anyone knows differently, they should let me know. That disclaimer aside, these techniques have been beta-tested for effectiveness by many tops and found to be very useful.

Cathartic flogging, coccooning mummification and ritual piercing can work at these events, especially if you focus on the aspects tribal ritual. These aspects include being a tribal witness...having someone witness our journey is very powerful and empowering. It depend on how open-minded they already are.

Ritual aspects can be added to any scene...and the endurance of pain can be a physical representation of sacrifice and energy transformation.
