Bill to improve health care…in Mexico! http://opensourceactivist.org/2008/02/06/bill-to-improve-health-care-in-mexico/ ----- All love all of these guys: McCain, Obama, whatever...! [:D] I knew would could get Universal Healthcare, I just didn't realize it would be in Mexico or controlled by the insurers themselves. Feels like another no bid kind of deal like Halliburton. Man, I really need to become an insider favored multi-national corporation. But how do I get rid of all of this skin?

Were it not for the dire state of finances, I would think this would be a good thing to try to limit illegal immigration? If conditions in Mexico are improved, then there should be a reduced push factor driving illegal immigrants to the US. Taken together with measures to reduce the pull factor, such plans are the only way to limit the illegal immigration problem you have - short of proper border control of course, which could well work out a lot cheaper than this current plan, even with a very long border. Depends whether youre prepared for a Berlin wall scenario with young Mexican women riddled with bullets, dying on the barbed wire in the morning sun I suppose, as to which is better. That and whether someone who has lots of fast bucks already, can make more with this plan than with the wall. E

Yellow journalism at its finest. Is this provision in an immigration bill pork barrel politics? Possibly, but it is neither the largest nor most egregious example of such. There are a good many reasons to burn Senators in effigy. This is not one of them.
